We were so lucky to have found this gem right below our apartment! From the minute we walked in, we were met with friendly smiles amidst an extremely warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Tiziano was our server and he was great! Attentive, engaging not intrusive and he was a big help with recommendations along with sharing interesting tidbits on the food and wine we had selected.
For our mains, we ordered 1 starter, 2 specials of the day and 2 signatures on the menu.
1.) Tartare di Tonno (Tuna) This dish was so light with a burst of freshness to start off the meal. 2.) Spaghetti Astice (Lobster) Lobster was fresh, juicy and tender. Lovely tomato base that highlighted the star ingredient perfectly. 3.) Tagliolini Tartufo Spot on! This was everyone’s favourite and we cleaned up every last bit. Sometimes, the simplest dish ends up being the most delicious. 4.) Polpetto Rosticciato Grilled really well and we enjoyed this dish. 5.) Baccala (Codfish) with Hummus and Chickpeas The hummus and chickpeas were great but the codfish was rather chewy. Not terrible but not great. We shared our feedback and without hesitation and a sincere, they took it off the bill. Which was not what we expected but was such a gracious and much appreciated gesture.
For dessert, we ordered the following.
1.) Strawberries & Cream A classic and you can never go wrong here. 2.) Tiramisu Deconstructed with the savoiardi (ladyfingers) as a soft cream but still retaining its flavours to the fullest. 3.) After Dinner daLù’s take on the After Eight mint chocolate in a dessert which stayed through to it’s origin and did not disappoint.
All in all, my family and I enjoyed ourselves very much and will be making another stop back at daLù’s before...
Read moreWent here for the tasting menu. Booked a table through the Fork. When we arrived the waiter informed us that as we booked through the Fork we get a discount from the ala carte, however the tasting menu is excluded and continiued to tell us the specials. We decided to order specials AS THEY HAVE THE DISCOUNT, the mozzarella for the starters and the truffle pasta for main. The mozzarella was 3 mozzarella balls on a ready made salad. Same if I had bought a mozzarella ball from the shop and just put it on a fancy plate. Second course pasta was ok. We also stated that as the tasting menu had wine pairings, that we would like pairings with the starter and the main. Just got one glass of wine. After the first course we were so astonished that you really think that a mozzarella ball with dry crusty ready made salad from a packet is ok, we didn’t even ask for wine pairing with the pasta and we were not even suggested one (as we had asked). When it came for the bill, it was 104 euros with no discount. Then we were told that the specials are excluded. This was NOT told to us when we ordered. Only said that the tasting menu is excluded. I’m usually very understanding as a foreign in Italy, but this was actually unforgivable. So this was...
Read moreI really wasn’t sure if I should write anything or not .. most of the stuff there is extremely nice, the host is a amazing, friendly and professional.. the guy who introduced us to the menu suggested us a wine that was spot on.. so it really started like a 5 start dinner.. unfortunately it ended there.. the food was extremely overpriced, low quality ingredients.. we took the 7 course fish tasting menu.. it felt like a 7 amuse bouche dinner.. extremely small dishes, nothing felt fresh , I wanted to feel the sea food of Rome and definitely didn’t get it.. some dishes felt not fresh.. and we said the ravioli wasn’t good.. and it was very bad.. we got a simple pasta with tomato sauce and steamed fish cubs .. that looked like it was taken from the kids menu .. almost felt like a punishment from the chef , the female waiter kept not giving us the right cutlery and was very aggressive.. we spent 220€ for a very disappointing meal..
And again, most of the people there were amazing.. the 2 guys and the host are absolutely professional .. and the service they gave was one of the best I remember.. but it can’t cover...
