Unfortunately, we didn’t have the best experience at this restaurant. We chose it because it was just a few minutes from where we were meeting for a tour at 11:30am. We sat down at 10:38am, thinking we had more than enough time for a quick meal. We ordered two pasta dishes—cacio e pepe and carbonara—which are usually fairly quick to prepare.
Our food didn’t arrive until 11:17am, which made us a bit anxious about the time, so we followed up with the waiter and asked for the bill in advance. What really left a bad impression, however, was the waiter’s attitude. When the food finally arrived, he made passive-aggressive remarks, suggesting that we should’ve told him we were in a rush so he could’ve recommended something quicker.
In our opinion, sitting down nearly an hour before our scheduled tour gave us ample time to eat without needing to clarify we were in a hurry. Most restaurants in Italy tend to serve meals within 10–15 minutes of ordering, so we didn’t think there was anything unusual about our timeline. We were disappointed not by the wait, but by the way the situation was handled—it lacked the warmth and hospitality we’ve come to...
Read moreWe have travelled to Rome on countless occasions over 30 years and never have we experienced anything like the attitude of the owner of Roberto cucina 3.0 today. We had just arrived after attending Pope Leo's blessing and decided we would have a drink and a snack. We were not very hungry and requested 4 drinks and asked for a pizza and some bruschetta to share between 4. The owner rudely declared the this was not possible and insisted more food needed to be ordered. He didn't seem to have a problem with other customers around us just ordering drinks with no food or perhaps they were lucky enough to have been served by someone else. We noticed he had instructed the young server not to engage with us when he came to take away the menus. Normally we find all Italian staff extremely friendly and accommodating. This is not typical of Italian hospitality. If we are blessed to visit beautiful Roma and its people for the next 30 years we will not be bothering the owner of Roberto Cucina 3.0 with our...
Read moreSo, ordered a steak at this place on the recommendation of the server. They brought the steak out and it was at least 85% fat.. I asked for the server, told him it was too fatty to eat. He took it back to the "chief" and I assumed they were cooking another one for me. Nope, came back out with the same steak. I said I didn't want it, couldn't eat the first time, why would I eat it now. Then by way of apology, the hostess brought me a lemon cello... I thanked her for it but didn't drink it cause who likes lemon cello? The bill comes and both the steak and the lemon cello were on the bill!!! I said I didn't order the lemon cello and why would you charge me $20e for I steak I didn't eat??? Terrible service, they didn't care and don't care about their products or service. Anyway, stay away from this place, there's plenty of other options to choose from....
