We booked through OpenTable — the official system, and the only way the place lets you reserve — and arrived on time, only to be told we couldn’t dine because we weren’t hotel guests. Without a £1,000-a-night room key from the W Hotel, our reservation was as worthless as yesterday’s breadsticks.
Our mistake, clearly. Next time we’ll remember to book a luxury suite before making dinner plans.
This was especially upsetting, as we were long-time fans of Seu Pizza’s Trastevere spot and were genuinely excited to try the new location. Back then, it was all about the food. Now it seems pizza is strictly reserved for the ultra-exclusive, room-key-wielding elite.
In short: booking confirmation ≠ actual reservation. Unless you fancy an expensive sleepover just to eat pizza, do yourself a favour and try one of Rome’s many excellent pizzerie that still believe reservations...

We weren’t really impressed with the service and it wasn’t that busy. The prices are hotel sized so honestly there are better pizzas and better pricing in many locations in Rome but the view was definitely impressive and the night (and company) were hard to beat.
I won’t rush back there but I wouldn’t hesitate to go...
Read moreRated as one of the best pizzas in the world, this was definitely one of the best doughs we’ve had. There’s a beautiful simplicity to their pizzas with top ingredients in a beautiful setting. We had the Diavola and the Cruda e burrata. You can taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. Our server was charming and attentive, she was stretched thin, but she was absolutely fantastic. She even remembered the orders of some of the tables around us who had visited earlier in the week. An absolutely fabulous experience although a tad expensive. The cocktails were quite pricey, you were paying up for the...
