An Unforgettable Stay at the InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace – 10/10!
From the moment we arrived at the InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace, we knew we were in for an extraordinary experience. As IHG Ambassador members, we’re no strangers to the high standards of service that come with the brand, but this hotel truly exceeded all our expectations, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share our experience.
Location: The hotel’s location is nothing short of perfect—only a 10-minute stroll from the iconic Trevi Fountain, it’s ideally situated for exploring the heart of Rome. Whether you're venturing out for sightseeing or just wandering the charming streets, you couldn’t ask for a more convenient base.
Service & Amenities: What really made this stay exceptional was the outstanding service. From check-in to check-out, the team made us feel valued and cared for at every turn. As Ambassador members, we’ve come to expect personalized service, but the team here went above and beyond. We felt like VIPs throughout our entire stay. The attention to detail in every aspect of the service was impeccable—nothing was too much trouble.
Dining & Drinks: We spent plenty of time at the hotel's dining and bar areas. The breakfast was great with a combination of buffet and A la carte options. It was the perfect start to each day. For evening drinks, the rooftop’s (Charlie’s) canapés and cocktails were a delight, and the lounge bar on the ground floor had an electric vibe that made it feel lively, even for those of us under 30. While we typically associate a livelier energy with W Hotels, the Ambasciatori Palace managed to capture that same buzz—without losing the elegance and sophistication you’d expect from an InterContinental.
On-Site Facilities: The hotel itself is stunning, blending its original charm with modern amenities. The internal condition of the property is immaculate—every space feels fresh and new, while the exterior and lobby still maintain that classic Roman grandeur. The facilities, from the restaurants to the lounges, are all top-notch, and every corner of the hotel feels meticulously curated.
Rooms: Our room was an absolute dream. Beautifully styled, with a luxurious touch, the space was perfect for both relaxing after 30+ degree days exploring room. The air condition was ice cold and the beds were comfortable.
Atmosphere: It’s rare to find a hotel that perfectly balances vibrant energy and refined elegance, but this one truly nails it.
Final Thoughts: We’ve stayed in numerous IHG properties around the world, but our stay in Rome was something truly special. The InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace is the epitome of luxury, service, and location. We will absolutely recommend this hotel to friends and family, and we’ll certainly be returning for another unforgettable experience. A huge thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable.

Read moreusually I would give my ratings after the hotel stay but I had such a good time that I decided to do it a day earlier.
(1) The service here is eager to please and you can tell first thing when you arrive. The receptionist takes her time to explain all your status privileges and sits you in the restaurant for a cup of coffee while waiting for your room to be ready.
(2) The room is outstanding and spacious. I don't believe we got a suite per se but the upgrade on the lead in room was already very good. Some minor pluses that are often overlooked - easy 1 master button to turn off all the lights, and a really efficient shower (either rain shower or shower cap) with manageable water temperature
(3) The location is the real deal. Safe streets and your base to walk almost anywhere really ie. Trevi foundation is 12 min away but definitely doesn't feel like it as it is a downward slope.
(4) Special call-out for breakfast - I didn't know ordering eggs was a special charge but they waive it off as it was a honest mistake and gave the egg to me anyway. And the best part .. the omelette was done perfectly (82% done to be precise). Thank you Gianluca for your excellent service.
(5) The conceirge has been very helpful, even on day 1 of planning a couple of months back. Transport and communication have been spot on, and this is the bare minimum that you deserve for a long family vacation. Thank you Matteo and Cristian
All in all - will be back here in a heartbeat the next time I visit Rome - and if you have IHG status or points, it is...
