Fantastic dining experience!
Located within easy walking distance of the Vatican, this restaurant is an absolute gem! Walk down the stairs through an almost anonymous door, and you're greeted with the scent of delicious pastas and the great hospitality of the owner.
We ordered 3 different types of pasta, each cooked to absolute perfection al dente, the sauces are rich and made with great tasting ingredients. The shrimps, mussels and fish all fresh and grilled to perfection, complimented by the delicious sauces. As a non-Italian, I'd have no idea about its authenticity, but as an overweight food lover I'm well qualified to proclaim it's fantastic.
Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. €12-15 for pastas and around €7 for dessert. Portions are sufficient without being excessive and a great choice of wines to suit the dishes.
Good overall ambience too. Tasteful and simple decors provides a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend for anyone looking to have great tasting Italian food and much nicer than the tourist traps just outside...
Read moreMy daughter and I were incredibly lucky to find Tocco Ferro on our final night in Rome. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness by the lovely lady and gentleman who run the place. Their hospitality went far beyond what you typically experience while traveling abroad — it truly felt like being cared for by family.
We started with two appetizers that were simply outstanding. The sea bream carpaccio was so fresh — and coming from a country known for sushi, we were genuinely impressed by the quality. The second dish, a zucchini flower delicately stuffed with shrimp and mozzarella cheese, was not only delicious but a true piece of culinary art.
The white wine she selected by the glass paired perfectly with our food, elevating the entire dining experience.
From start to finish, everything at Tocco Ferro was exceptional — the food, the wine, and above all, the people. I will absolutely return to this amazing restaurant the next time...
Read moreArrived on Sunday evening to our airbnb in Rome and in desperate need of good Italian food. Found this place nearby and arrived late. They did not mind and gave us a table. The food was delicious, specially the ‘Pacchero allo Scoglio’. Delicious sauce, pasta and seafood. We used the bread to finish the left over sauce. The other food was great too. Our pictures do not do the food justice, it was really good. The white wine we had was also very delicious. Unfortunately did not make a picture to capture it. The staff was very friendly and sweet, even when all other guests left they offered us a limoncello on the house and told us not to feel rushed, we could enjoy our time and not feel pressured to leave. Do not get fooled by the dated interior, which could use some love and attention. The food and staff is worth the visit! Even a week later after all other food in Rome we tried this pasta is what we still...
