I live in the USA and wanted to experience Italian wine and ship some home. I have no prior experience with Italian wine other than what we can get in the US. The sister who runs the wine bar is very personable. She was happy to choose some of the very best of Italian wine for us to try alongside of their food specials. We tried w whites, 1 rose, and 2 reds from all over Italy. It was in a word, perfecto. After we'd tried the wine, the brother was happy to pick out the bottles, plus recommend some additional ones for shipping. If the additional bottles are anything close to what we tried, we will be in heaven. While not inexpensive, I would highly recommend them if you are looking for excellent service and outstanding wine. Plus they ship! (Again, not inexpensive, but we will never be able to get the wine to the US...

Da 200 anni vinai in Roma, è il PUNTO di riferimento del vino a Roma. L’ambiente è molto grande, un vantaggio quindi per l’assortimento. La divisione principale è tra le diverse tipologie di vino (bianchi, rossi, bollicine) quindi tra regioni. Ci si orienta benissimo e si trova di tutto, sicuramente i vini più conosciuti, ma anche, grazie ai consigli di Francesco e Paolo alcune “chicche” per gli amanti del vino più curiosi. Ovviamente la parte del leone la fanno le etichette italiane e francesi, ma si trovano anche vini neozelandesi, sudafricani, argentini, tedeschi… C’è un’area dedicata ai superwines italiani e non. Poi un’area per le bollicine italiane e una per gli champagne. Qualche scalino e si passa alle stanze dove si possono trovare tantissime etichette di liquori e superalcolici. Mentre più vicino all’ingresso si trovano anche i vini da dessert. Inoltre c’è un buon assortimento di birre. Per acquisti last-minute ci sono diversi frigoriferi per champagne e vini bianchi già refrigerati. Un buon assortimento di pasta di ottima qualità, conserve, oli evo, aceto balsamico e altri prodotti interessanti. Cioccolate e dolci secchi per tutti i gusti, ovviamente durante il periodo natalizio pandori e panettoni artigianali di altissima qualità. Quando entrate date anche uno sguardo agli scaffali di fronte al bancone dove si possono trovare molte etichette interessanti ad un ottimo prezzo. Il personale non è solo cortese ma anche super competente. Con i fratelli Paolo e Francesco Trimani si possono passare delle ore a parlare delle tecniche di produzione del vino, terroir e piccole cantine. La sorella Carla gestisce il Wine Bar su via Cernaia che merita una recensione a parte. Mentre il fratello Giovanni, il più creativo, ha realizzato molte decorazioni interne. Great selection of wines, but more important, knowledgeable and friendly staff to assist with your selections. Also wonderful atmosphere and convenient location.
