VIB — Restaurant in Rome

Just had the BEST Italian dining experience at VIB! I would happily give it 6 stars if I could!!

For our last meal in Rome at the end of my family's 6-day holiday here, we decided to have our dinner at VIB as it is near our hotel (we were already too tired and lazy to travel or even walk much from our hotel). The reviews have been good, so that gave us some confidence in the place. What we were about to experience simply blew that expectation out of the water. Everything from the ambience, service, food, etc. was top quality. It was a truly memorable dining experience! And a most fitting way to end our nice Rome holiday.

The restaurant has a nice, classy interior akin to typical fine dining restaurants. The service level was top-notch. The waiters were very attentive to all our needs, including voluntary changing of plates and cutlery between courses, and constantly checking in with us to enquire if the food and everything else were ok.

And to top it all, the food was exceptional! Despite the fine dining interior, the food was very reasonably priced while the portion was generous.

We were even offered complimentary appetiser at the start and cookies at the end. I would have happily given the restaurant a 6-star rating even without the free appetiser and cookies. The food and overall experience were simply THAT memorable.

We ordered Tonnarelli Carbonara, Tonnarelli Amatriciana, Seafood Risotto and Pasta with Clams. We also ordered Veal in Creamed Peas and Sweet Potato Mash to share. All the pasta and risotto were very nicely presented and cooked to almost perfect texture. The various sauces were flavourful and tasty without being too salty. The ingredients used such as the clams, prawns squids and mussels were all very fresh.

The real star was the veal dish which was simply delicious and out of this world! The veal itself was cooked to PERFECTION (I am not exaggerating here)! It was so VERY tender that it can almost melt in your mouth! The meat went really well with the mashed peas, potatoes and sweet potatoes, which also added to the visual appeal of the dish. I have yet to taste a better veal dish, EVER. We enjoyed the dish so much that we just had to order another of the same. It was that yummy! That also explains why there are 2 pictures of the veal dish. They were basically two separate servings of the same dish.

My recent breakfast experience at VIB was nothing short of extraordinary, truly setting a new standard for upscale Italian morning fare. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was wonderfully cute and refined, perfectly balancing comfort with elegance.

The star of the show was undoubtedly the Benedict – hands down, the best I have ever tasted in my life. Each component was executed to perfection, from the perfectly poached eggs with their luscious, runny yolks to the velvety, rich hollandaise sauce that elevated every bite. It was a culinary masterpiece that I'll be dreaming about for a long time!

To accompany this delightful dish, I indulged in their cappuccino, which was equally amazing. Creamy, perfectly frothed, and with a robust coffee flavor, it was the ideal complement to the meal, providing that quintessential Italian morning ritual.

Beyond the incredible food and drink, the service truly made our visit unforgettable. Our servers, Kevin and Ray, were absolutely phenomenal. They were incredibly attentive without being intrusive, anticipating our needs and ensuring every aspect of our meal was seamless. Their warmth and professionalism added so much to the experience, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

An Elegant Hidden Gem in the Heart of Rome – A Must for Breakfast Lovers!

We stumbled upon VIB Ristorante Italiano Frattina for breakfast and were absolutely blown away. Arriving at 8:30am, we were welcomed into a quiet, elegant space adorned with stunning marble floors and walls—refined without being the least bit pretentious. The ambiance strikes that rare balance: elevated yet inviting.

The staff, Rey and Kevin, were exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Even the owner, seated nearby enjoying his morning coffee, took the time to greet us with a smile that made us feel right at home. There’s a calm sophistication here that sets the tone for a perfect Roman morning.

Now, the food. Wow. My wife and I each had cappuccinos (perfectly made), a pistachio-filled cornetto (flaky, creamy heaven), and the Benedict with poached eggs, avocado, ham, and a luscious Dutch sauce on toasted bread. My wife declared it the best Benedict of her life—no exaggeration. We also tried two fruit centrifuges: one with carrot, orange, and lemon; the other with pineapple, carrot, mint, and apple. Both were unbelievably fresh and vibrant.

The chef even came out to say hello after hearing how much we loved the meal—a thoughtful gesture that sealed the experience.
