Chose here based on the great reviews, but we were very disappointed. The biggest issue was with our wine, specifically an expensive glass (€15) of Brunello di Montepulciano. It tasted completely flat and watery. I don't know if it was watered down or what but it was not good. If we hadn't just come from Florence where we did multiple tastings of Brunello we might not have known, but something was very off with the glass from Fuoro51. We also had an appetizer with Buffalo mozzarella and shrimp. It was ok, but not great. We had heard so much about how famous the Naples region is for buffalo mozzarella and we were suprised how lackluster it was. We decided to order buffalo mozzarella at a different restaurant the next day and it was INCREDIBLE. We realized quickly that the mozzarella at Fuoro51 just wasn't the same quality. Overall we wouldn't go here again and would caution against buying any expensive wine by the glass.

Ive visited here this evening on a side street off the main run and what a surprise! The wine, cheese, meats sharing platter was all absolutely superb! The waiter explained about the locality of each item, ensuring locally sourced where possible, some local cheeses and meats where lovely. The mains we had were some very succulent meatballs, in a rich and tasty tomato sauce, seasoned very well and the meatballs where not too dense or too light, really good. Just like Nonna would cook. Myy wife had the gnocchi which was like butter melting in your mouth with a lovely gorgonzola sauce poured on top. We had to rush as we had to get the bus back to our hotel, but compliments to the chef on some excellent culinary skills and to the waiters for very informative and detailed knowledge of what they serve and what they love. Well done :-)

We walked in with no reservation and were seated straight away. The restaurant itself is beautiful and had a great atmosphere. We aren’t big drinkers so opted for a peroni and a Coke Zero - there’s definitely enough drink choice for you if you are wanting something that is not wine. If you do fancy wine then this seems like the place to be. We ate here because the menu and photos looked delicious from other reviews and we were not disappointed. A bread basket and bread sticks were given to us to start with. We ordered the pork rib pasta, beef shin pasta, fried vegetables and potatoes which were all delicious. The staff are exceptional and looked after us very well. Do not miss out on this gem of a restaurant, it’s absolutely worth the visit and worth every penny.

Had an absolutely stellar dining experience in Sorrento today. The culinary delights here are a must-try for anyone travelling through this charming town. The menu boasted an array of Italian classics, prepared with both authenticity and a touch of modern flair.

First up, the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina was a revelation. This dish, famed throughout Italy and beyond, lived up to its reputation. Its simple yet robust flavours – a creamy tomato and basil sauce paired with perfectly cooked gnocchi, all generously topped with grated cheese – were a true homage to Mediterranean cuisine.

The Bruschettone con ricotta fuscella e guanciale was another standout. This upscale take on bruschetta, featuring ricotta fuscella with lemon, guanciale, local Sorrento walnuts, and a hint of paprika powder, was an exemplary aperitif. It paired beautifully with a glass of fine wine, setting the stage for the rest of the meal.

And to cap off the meal, the Tiramisù was sheer perfection. Staying true to the classic recipe, with layers of coffee-dipped sponge fingers and mascarpone cream, dusted with cocoa, it was the epitome of Italian desserts.

The service matched the quality of the food – attentive, efficient, and genuinely warm. It’s a place I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Sorrento, whether you're a seasoned traveller or just passing through. The blend of traditional flavours and modern culinary techniques here is something...

Pros: cool wine list on tablets. Lot of options. Cons: Took about 15 minutes for anyone to come to our table. The people seated right before us were waited on almost an immediately. Not sure if it was a language/local thing or just didn’t notice. The wine we got was good especially for the price (not too picky with wine so take it as you will). The food was blahhh. I got the wild boar dish and my partner got the eggplant parm. In the bottom two meals I’ve had in all of Italy (outside of breakfast). Nice staff after the initial delay. Smoking is pretty common here obviously but this is as the first time it was a problem for us. People next to us were mowing cigs down and even outdoor it was uneditable. We were also trying to get out of here at the end to catch the Napoli match. After telling the waiter we wanted the bill he was offended we didn’t want to stay. Told him (their first title in 40 years and wanted to be part of the celebration). Felt like he was deliberately taking forever after that to...

Typical tourist garbage. Service was mediocre. Wine selection ok. But the food was a complete abomination. I mean, like, notably bad. If you had no idea what decent Italian food was, it might, and I mean might, be edible. Have to believe in my heart that the owners are manipulating the social media ratings OR the patrons really are just clueless know-nothings. I should have run away the moment I saw the tablet-only menu with photos of everything. Also, somewhat overpriced relative to similar nearby places.

Response to hostile owner reply below:

I would have certainly advised the server of any issues… if he could be found after the food was served! And having lived in Italy for a long time, I am pretty competent in preparing super basic food like this. I would happily teach your chef. Send me an email and we can organize a zoom and I will start with showing him or her how to not boil pasta to death. It’s...
