A view for the eyes, a taste that lingers — unmissable. Hands down, the best tuna tataki in town. (Not sure I’ve tried every single one, but this one sets the bar ridiculously high — and I order tataki a lot.) Let’s talk materia prima — the quality of the ingredients: the tuna was juicy, meaty, deeply tactile. The cooking? Flawless. Raw in the center with a surprisingly crunchy crust. The texture contrast? Perfection. As a side, I ordered a creamy mashed potato dish with green herb sauce — comforting and familiar, but elevated. The carafe of water infused with lemon and mint was such a thoughtful touch (I’m definitely copying it at home!), as was the Rosanera by Marabino from the wine list — absolutely spot-on with the dish. And then… the setting. Sea breeze, wide umbrellas, the sea view stretching beyond the railing — like something from a postcard, but real, and all mine for a quiet, perfect lunch. And the service? Warm, thoughtful, and extremely competent. Definitely worth a stop...
Read moreWe had the best meal of the holiday here. It was recommended by our host as a place to eat good food whilst watching the sun set. It fulfilled all our expectations! The owner of the restaurant - Eleni? - came over to welcome us, which was lovely. waiters were friendly & attentive - for instance, taking time to discover what wine I liked drinking at home, in order to match it to one of the Sicilian wines. My husband had a very good Sicilian lager. I have a fish allergy & thecwsiter took time to talk me through the menu - I had a choice of lots of delicious dishes. We both had over-indulged on icecream earlier, so regrettably decided against the tempting starters. We both went for a lovely Sicilian pasta dish made with basil, ricotta & pistachios. Another wine & lager finished off a magical evening. We were pleased to learn there is a sister pizzeria - & next year on return, will be making this a regular choice. Make sure you do the same! Thank you all so much - see...
Read moreI am very glad we didn't read all the negative reviews before we sat down at Sorelle a Mare. The reason we did was Giuseppe's irresistible charisma, and we soon found out that his hospitality is par for the course. We ordered a glass of wine, and he gave us a whole tasting with generous pours from four or five bottles before my wife and I each chose what we liked, and the wines were stellar. We had a light meal of buratta and focaccia, and both were simply fantastic. Giuseppe and his colleagues were treating us like royalty, and it's not like we were going to spend a fortune there. And speaking of the bill, it came to about 40 euros, which was very reasonable for such a location. We left feeling well fed and well taken care of, and I would certainly go back whenever good fortune brings us to...
