I traveled to 9 countries in Europe and received the absolute worst experience at this restaurant. My friend ordered the seafood pasta and the seafood on his pasta was cold. He had to pick to pick off each topping from his pizza so he would not get sick by ingesting it. My friend and I ordered the lasagna. I have never been served a cold lasagna at such an expensive restaurant. Our waiter seated us in a corner and did not come to check up on us once after he served us our food. When we had to get up to find him in order to receive our bill, he finally came over. We told him that we would pay for our food, however, did not want to pay the 8 euro service fee because we did not believe that he deserved the tip. A service fee should be something that the waiter receives out of good service and more importantly, good food. He began to shout at us and an employee had to come over to hold him back. I was very afraid to be treated in such a way as a customer in a restaurant. This is an experience that I have never in my life time received. He did not allow us to leave the restaurant until we paid him the full price of our meal, including our tip. The server continued to yell at us outside of the restaurant and people were looking at him. This ruined our experience in Venice as we only spent one day there. It was such a shame because Venice is beautiful and this experience brought...
Read moreRecommended to us by a friend of the owner. Grumpy waiter did not put us in the best of moods, but another waiter took over and was better. People bang on about the seafood in venice, but this was just, well, meh. My wife had a plate of mussels, I swear I could cook them better at home, then we had a sharing platter of monkfish, Scampi and Squid, which was OK. Just that. OK. For nearly 200 euro I want something better than OK. I don't know what you have to do to get a decent meal in Venice, it proved virtually impossible. Dessert was an apology of a Tirimisu which we told the waiter to take away it was that bad - at least they didn't charge for that. Introduced ourselves to the owner and said we had been recommended by her friend but she was more interested in counting the takings. People complaining left right and centre about the food, the service, and hair catching fire on candles. All a bit bizarre really. Expected a lot better. Maybe my standards and expectations...
Read moreHORRIBLE, we wanted to stop and eat somewhere for lunch so we decided to walk around. First off, there were two people standing outside trying to traffic people into their place. We decided to head in since most places were about to close to prep for dinner. We ordered an appetizer, salad, seafood pasta, and lobster. Appetizer was absolutely nothing special. Sliced meats from a store and bitter mozzarella. The salad was store bought, seasoned with a cheap olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Seafood pasta was REALLY BAD, no flavour, clams had sand in them AND I almost broke my teeth on shell pieces in the pasta, it's like they crunched up a shell over the top. Lobster was TERRIBLE, like how do you mess up lobster? That takes skill to make it taste so bad. We didn't even eat it, just paid after telling them the food was bad, we knew they would make a scene if we requested to not pay. Waste of time, waste of money. Don't go here, anywhere else...
