DO NOT COME HERE! Horrible. We ordered tomato egg and this stir fried chilli beef dish. Tomato egg was acceptable, not impressive, but normal.
As a Chinese, this beef dish was TERRIBLE. Tasted like fake beef. Rubbery texture. We told the woman boss about it and she said “it is from a young cow 嫩牛” and was explaining how all Chinese from China loves eating meat of this texture.
She’s gotta be joking. She kept on insisting that her dish is fresh and how their restaurant doesn’t use “fake beef meat” as other restaurants would. Her attitude was as if we never ate beef before and was trying to gaslight us that this beef what a typical restaurant in China would taste like.
It was obvious that her beef was either super not fresh or it is vegetarian fake meat. I believe it’s the latter. I have eaten actual stir fried beef 青椒炒牛肉 from China, as well as fresh beef from a small villages. In fact, few days ago I went to several chinese restaurants in Italy and ordered this dish (cuz I really like this dish lol) and all tasted so good.
The Portion is small and not worth the price! This dish was 10€ and omg I can’t explain how small it is. The other Chinese restaurants I went to in Italy, was about the same price and tasted fresher + bigger portion. Ok, the price is not a deal breaker bcz I understand that most Chinese restaurants in Europe are quite expensive as compared to Chinese restaurants in Asia. But as a typical Asian, the freshness and quality of raw ingredients is the bare minimum. And they can’t even fulfill such a simple task.
Please do not come here if you’re looking for authentic Chinese food....
Read moreIf you’re looking for a place that combines elegance, heartwarming hospitality, and authentic Filipino flavors, Leone De Oro is a must-visit. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the incredibly friendly Filipino staff who made us feel like we were coming home rather than just dining out. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine smiles made the entire experience feel personal and memorable.
The highlight for me was discovering that they serve sinigang and adobo—two dishes that are close to my heart. The sinigang had the perfect balance of tangy and savory, with tender meat and fresh vegetables that brought back childhood memories. The adobo was rich, flavorful, and slow-cooked to perfection—just like how it’s made back home. It’s not easy to find restaurants that truly capture the soul of Filipino cuisine, but Leone De Oro does it effortlessly.
The ambiance is stylish yet cozy, making it a perfect spot for both special occasions and casual meals. Whether you’re Filipino or simply a fan of great food and outstanding service, this place delivers on all fronts. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and a strong desire to come back again soon.
Thank you to the amazing team at Leone De Oro for a truly 5-star experience. You’ve created something special, and I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreFriendly staff, quick service, food lacking in flavour, the usual frozen fried spring rolls, crispy duck better, duck al orange so so, fried rice with veg freshly prepared but bland, white wine on tap poor quality. At least they have the choice rather than expensive bottles like most restaurants here in Venice. Prices fair, portions generous. Better than the other one we often used to, and no longer visit in SP but one visit is enough here. Suggest you ask staff to bring your mains and accompaniments together as we have seen other Chinese restaurants serve rice as a 'primo' here in Italy, in the style of a risotto first dish, not as Western style all together. Italian taste does not go for Chinese or Indian flavours so not surprised we, as expat British, found it below par. Still better than the ubiquitous penne arrabbiata and it's far too closely related dishes, whether primi o secondi. Nice management though, tidy and clean dining area and facilities with lots of side corners for more intimate dining experiences and in a nice area, 'far from the madding crowd' of Piazza San...
