Do you want to ruin your first trip to Venice by catching the worst food poisoning of your life? Then I suggest visiting this place!
I usually don’t leave any ratings but this restaurant made me change my mind. I went there together with my girlfriend and had their Lasagna Bolognese along with a glass of Coca Cola. The location is quite charming, unlike the unfriendly and not very talkative waiter. My first impression of the lasagna was nothing special, seemed to me like any other lasagna. But boy was I wrong!
Their lasagna gave me a food poisoning that made me throw up 5x times during the night! Instead of spending the next day going sightseeing with my girlfriend, I had to stay in bed in order to recover from their gruesome food.
Long story short: If you are looking for a place to eat properly, avoid this Restaurant at all costs! However, if you enjoy the drooling pain of bad food and spending a whole night of your vacation throwing up your soul, I can really recommend this place! Also avoid this place if you are looking for a place to eat for work/with your company, you will not receive a proper receipt, as they write their receipts on a piece of paper using a pen!
Edit: My girlfriend also got a food poisoning on the day I recovered from mine. This place ruined our first trip to Venice AND our anniversary. We will report this place to the Italian authorities,...
Read moreThis restaurant, located in the San Cassiano campo in Venice, has been the best place I have eaten at. They have everything from pizza, spaghetti, chicken, seafood, etc. Living upstairs in a nearby building, this bar was a great place to get coffee (cappuccino) in the mornings and to get small snacks such as their cattoleta sandwiches (a chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, and signature ketchup/mayonnaise sauce). My favorite dish off their menu was the zucchini e gamberetti (a pasta with shrimp, tomatoes, zucchini, and their spices). They also make extravagant coffee milkshakes (similar to a Starbucks mocha cookie crumble but better). The restaurant is owned by an Asian couple who immigrated from China and work here each day, providing the best experience for every customer. These people are very kind, giving me free oranges from time to time and serving me at 10:30 p.m. when they close at 11 p.m. They have a great staff of workers who I got to know to some extent, from the ladies preparing all the meals to the guys serving people. I recommend everyone stop by this small family-owned restaurant. They are a five minute walk from the Rialto Bridge, heading west through the Baccaria area into the San...
Read moreI normally don’t like to give bad reviews but since our server asked me to review the restaurant I will do so. I cannot recommend this restaurant. While the setting in a square is pleasant, the food is good but nothing special. However what was most annoying is that our server, rather than simply accepting our drinks orders, made various recommendations on how to adjust the order, but didn’t tell us that this would come close to doubling the cost, from 4.50 to 7.50 euros for each drink. When we asked him about it when we received the bill he made up some excuses but couldn’t explain why he never mentioned it. Instead, he told us to give the restaurant a bad review, since he just works there and doesn’t own it. Given the plethora of good restaurants in Venice with professional, courteous waiters , I’m not sure why anyone would choose...
