Loved the view. Will give them that. The atmosphere is phenomenal. Other than that a complete unwelcoming place. Completely over priced. Obviously it depends on your budget but we like going to nice places and some times that means going to an expensive place. This one is not particularly crazy. They charge a €12 cover charge, which may make sense if you are having a coffee. But not sure it makes sense when you are spending over €150 per person? I mean, you are in Venice, so not a big deal. The restaurant is a bit expensive but given the location and the assumed cuisine, expected. But there’s no way this place is worth that. Anywhere in France serves a better duck than here. We had four different waiters. The one that greeted us was so pretentious. Complete turn off. Telling me how much I should order? As if he would know my appetite or my taste? The actual server was very nice. He should be running the show. Then the other two guys serving the water: the first one never came to check on us, so I kept serving myself; the second one, poured the €10 San Pellegrino sparkling water into my €10 Acqua Panna still water and after realizing it, simply said “sorry” and left. Didn’t even bring a new empty glass for me or anything. Not the kind of service I’m used to from the Luxury...
Read morea great view, but ... we spent my wifes birthday ( Aug. 17) there an were quite disappointed. We payed 531.- € for two persons, but food and service didn't match this price. The "coperto" (cutlery and bread) was 14.-€ per person, which is quite high, but the view from the terrace is great. 23.-€ for my wifes Bellini (home made, good quality) were okay, but 15.- for a simple Pernod from the bottle is quite much. Especially, when you got your Pernod alreday with many icecubes in the glass. This is a no go for any pastis-drinker. We made the mistake to take the "tasting menu" for 180.-€ per person, which was a deception. It was not bad, but not really good. Raw shrimps not only in the first but also in second course is not very original and the shrimp carpaccio didn't have much taste. And oyster-icecream seemed to me a bit exagerrated and fishing for effects. We asked for a "verdicchio" which is a gret wine to match fish, but they among their 150 wines they didn't have any. The espresso came without a glass of water which is not very classy too. Summary: Take your aperitvo and espresso elswhere, take "spaghetti pomodora" ( 28.-€) and a glass of red wine (15.-€), pay 14.-€ per person for the "coperto" and...
Read moreBEAUTIFUL restaurant!! I emailed for reservations 2 months in advance and mentioned it was my husband's 30th birthday and that I'd like a table closest to the water - they were quick to reply with confirmation. We arrived and they seated us right away at our beautiful table with the best view! The service was a little slow at first but I could tell they were dealing with a difficult table next to us. The food came and it was delicious! But, very small portions for the price. We were surprised with a free starter that we didn't order, then the main course, then a dessert we didn't order or pay for, then a few mini macaroons we didn't order. They kept bringing us food, it was great!! After all that, they then came out with a desert with Happy Birthday written on the plate! I was so surprised, since I simply mentioned his birthday 2 months ago. I was very impressed with our experience all around. Great food, great view, great service, slightly high price for the portions. I would love to go...
