My husband and I stayed in Venice for a couple nights and after trying our best to find good cuisine in the area, we only found mediocre food and so many “tourist traps”. We were so discouraged and were pretty much ready to give up on an enjoyable dining experience in the city altogether…
On our last day, we were recommended this authentic Venitian tavern by a local and we’re so glad they did. The atmosphere is lovely- away from the typical crowds and located right on a canal with a bright and welcoming interior.
The food was authentic and every plate we ordered was delicious. (We ended up ordering more after our first courses were so great!)
The staff felt extremely genuine and were attentive and helpful when we asked the server for recommendations. They gave us the feeling of “we don’t really care about where you’re from, we make good food for everyone” mentality which we found really refreshing to experience after the tourist traps that featured well-dressed waiters asking where people are from while seeming to put on a show to certain tables in hopes of tips.
Not here! Just honest people doing what they do best… making and serving great food and drinks! (And playing the best music to listen to while dining!🎶🎸)
Overall, dining here for lunch was such an amazing experience and we enjoyed every bite, every sip, and every rock song played. Definitely recommend and hope to be back if we’re ever in Venice again. Thank you for letting us leave Venice with such a good taste in...
Read moreThis is THE place in Venice where you have to go in case you want to eat sea food.
First of all the service: the waiter was so friendly and nice, the kind of which you would like to be friends with. The service is fast and plates are very well dressed.
Food: the sea food mix (Antipasti Misto La Saracchetta) was exceptional. I’m usually not a fan of raw sea food especially when there are oysters or snails, but this one was so fresh and good you could change principles for. The grilled Octopus was excellent. The fried mixture was really good, especially when this kind of plates is most of the time fried frozen sea food, in this plate you can smell and taste the difference of fried fresh sea food even if you’re a rookie.
The price is very reasonable especially when you can easily pay more in tourist trap restaurants a couple of...
Read moreDefinitely not 5-stars visit, not bad but far from being great. Why? First of all - if you order glass of wine you’ll get 100 ml. Seriously? 4-4,5 € per glass, what looks like a reasonable price, makes it ridiculously expensive considering 100 ml. Food. I ordered grilled octopus which was nice but I expected it to be served with some vegetables (I saw in previous reviews potatoes and asparagus). Mine was served with just some cherries and olives. For an appetiser it’s maybe ok, for the main course - not. Black pasta was overcooked. Meat appetiser (16€) - just some meat slices you can get in every supermarket for 1,49 per pack. 4 glasses of wine (actually two in normal sized glasses), 3 main courses, one appetiser- 94 €. Would not visit...
