10 years ago we used to live just a few mins walk from here and this was always our favorite place for eating breakfast outdoor. As it's a very popular place among locals and not just tourists, it's not super easy to find a seat outdoor. Today we got blessed by the weather and some luck and managed to enjoy a delicious breakfast sitting along the canal, while going okas passed by. Extremely happy to confirm that the quality has not changed. The "dolce della casa" is a tiramisu-like cake enriched with syrup peaches. Strongly recommended all the biscuits made of "pasta frolla". Staff very efficient and attentive as always even if all the faces seemed new (we saw one of our trusted waitresses later on in the evening, always a good sign in our books).

Pasticceria Rio Marin is a delightful hidden gem in Venice, offering the perfect spot for a relaxing break from sightseeing. Tucked away from the busy tourist areas, this charming café is known for its excellent selection of pastries, coffees, and light bites. The outside seating is particularly lovely, with tables set along a quiet canal, making it an idyllic place to sit and watch the world go by. The pastries are fresh and delicious, with options ranging from traditional Venetian favorites like frittelle and cannoli to beautifully crafted cakes and cookies. The coffee is equally impressive—rich and full-bodied, making it a great spot for a morning espresso or afternoon cappuccino.

It’s a pastry and coffee shop - and it is also an experience. A small place on Rio Marin that we stumbled upon during a walk in this section of Venice. Coming from a locale where getting a Cappuccino at all means from a corporate coffee shop, we were amazed at the artistry through which our cappuccini were prepared and presented. Made the stop much more memorable.

I was really looking forward to having my first coffee in Venice, but this place turned out to be a total letdown. The service was outright rude - the waitress was friendly with the local customers but treated us, obvious tourists with cameras, with disdain.

She made us wait unnecessarily, ignoring us completely until my husband went inside to place the order himself. When the cappuccinos finally arrived, they were disappointing: lukewarm, mostly milk, and barely any coffee. To top it off, the bill was outrageous - 3.50 euros per coffee, more than double the average price. It felt like they were deliberately trying to take advantage of tourists, and from what I’ve read, this is a recurring issue. If you want to avoid overpriced drinks and rude service, steer clear...
