I don’t typically write reviews, but the Santa Croce Boutique Hotel in Venice was so exceptional that I had to make an exception. From the moment we arrived, the service was beyond anything I’ve experienced. We were checked in by Martina who sat us down and went over the highlights of the city on a map and then walked us to our room and exhibited first-class professionalism and warmth. After that each staff member went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable, offering warm, personalized attention that made us feel like family. Roberto arranged to have flower petals on our bed after I explained this trip was a late 10th anniversary present for my wife and also ensured we had one of the most beautiful rooms we have seen since arriving in Italy. A day later after a beautiful first night, my wife injured her hand, and we had the pleasure of meeting Riccardo. Without hesitation, he busted out a medical kit and provided all the essentials for treating her hand. Then he provided excellent instructions on where and how to receive aid. He showed such care for my wife, and I was genuinely surprised and grateful for all of his help. I worked in hospitality many years ago before becoming a Nurse. Post covid, I was under the impression that the spirit and heart of hospitality died. I can assure you that it is alive and well and breathed new life into my heart again about traveling. The hotel itself is a hidden gem – elegant, immaculately clean, and perfectly located for exploring Venice. My room was a sanctuary of comfort thanks to Roberto, complete with thoughtful touches that showed incredible attention to detail. Breakfast each morning was the best we have experienced featuring fresh, high-quality options that were delicious, and the staff at breakfast were always top-notch and friendly. My only regret was not getting everyone's name. However, I can assure you the whole staff is a cut above the rest. Lastly, our sincerest thanks to the general manager. He prides himself on his professionalism and helped our stay continue to be unforgettable. Our deepest thanks to everyone at the Santa Croce Boutique Hotel. A true tourist diamond destination filled with pristine ambassadors for the...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here in September 2024 and it was a fantastic experience. We had the room with the rooftop terrace. I attached a picture from their website. We thought about sitting there in the evening with drinks and snacks but just too much to do and never got back early enough to enjoy. ||||Hotel is a few minutes walk from Rivia Di Biasio waterbus stop which can pretty much take you anywhere. I liked that it was further away from the crowded San Marco area but close enough to walk to and exploring Venice while walking is half the fun. There were still lots of good nearby restaurants. My wife claimed to have the best Gelato at Gelateria Alaska nearby and we absolutely loved stopping at Bacaro Quebrado for Venetian Spritz in the evening. Both are just a couple of minutes from Santa Croce. ||||Breakfast at hotel was excellent with lots of choices. Coffee, espresso, Cappuccino are freshly made to order. On 2nd day I learned to order two right away because it can take a while if they are busy. :-) Staff was super friendly and helpful. They never seemed to busy to talk to us or offer us an espresso. I love that about smaller hotels. ||||If you have maneuverability issues the rooftop terrace room may not be for you. You will need to climb stairs to get to the room and a small spiral staircase to get to the terrace. The mirror in the bathroom is too low for anyone over 5 feet :-). Not an issue for me but its due to the slanted ceiling from the roof. We had some minor issues with the shower staying on. I had to use one hand to hold the button on the last day. They said it had something to with water pressure and the third floor but they were going to fix it. ||||If / when we go again, we would definitely stay here again. Hope you enjoy it as...
Read moreWe had a fantastic experience at the Santa Croce Boutique Hotel. There were a slew of highlights:|1. The reception staff was A+. Friendly, thorough, patient, and kind. Guided us well without ever making us feel any question was too simple for them. Special kudos to Matteo who greeted us on a late evening arrival and helped us several times. We also met the hotel manager who was a pro and very courteous. |2. The breakfast team was A++. They were service-oriented, smiled and asked what we needed, prepared delicious made to order eggs and variety of coffees without complaint, and generally left us feeling very pampered.|3. The location is ideal - we took the Alilaguna to San Stae and walked in the night (about 12 mins) no problems. The hotel itself is in a very quiet almost residential area. Pharmacy, supermarket and all very close by. It was away from the bustle of Rialto yet only a 15 min walk to the Rialto, Dorsadero, and every place. The vaporetto stop for exploring is Riva di Biasio which is about a couple of hundred meters away.|4. The hotel has a lovely protected garden with comfortable chairs and tables. Great for the breakfast and for just lounging between explorations.|5. The room was fine. It was not huge by US standards but had a (no charge) minibar, good AC, and a very comfortable bed.||We travel a LOT so I feel we have some judgement on hotels :_) This one was well above expectations for us. 5-star treatment...
