So we ate here twice today. We went for a quick coffee and croissant this morning. The staff was great and the food and coffee was as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't wait long for our food and didn't feel pressured to hurry through our meals. We wanted wanted something close to the hotel for dinner, took a look at the menu and decided to go back for dinner. We were not disappointed! We started with the calamari which was fantastic. My husband had the fried cod which was crispy and oh so good. I had the pork ribs and the meat fell off the bone and was outstanding. We had the house red which was my second favorite red here in Venice so far. We finished with a cappuccino, which I always love, this was also really good. My husband is not a coffee drinker and said it was his favorite so far. Definitely worth a stop if you are looking for a breakfast or dinner place, I'm sure lunch is good as well. They had indoor and outdoor seating and the little square they are in is a great place for people and dog watching. We spent about $65 euros on dinner, which...
Read moreIn terms of location, it’s perfect. Food wasn’t terrible, however it wasn’t grate either. It’s convenient if you’re having a hard time finding a spot to eat and just want to feel up your empty and hungry stomach, or if you’re staying in a near by hotel. And can’t be bothered in wasting to much time searching for a breakfast spot. In terms of hospitality, unfortunately you can wait up to 20/25 mnts, just to order your food! And this isn’t at peak time either. Despite going there a few times we were turned away at 9.50am because they said they opened at 10am rather than seating us to wait till it did. (With all tables ready , door open and music on) we were tolled In a very rude manner. Turning their backs to us whilst they said it, a big sign of disrespect. Toilets never had any toilet paper, ever. Or liquid (soup) in order to wash your hands after using the toilet. My advice bring your own toilet paper...
Read moreConca D'Oro is a new found treasure that has been making pizza ince 1947 in Venice. We had the pleasure of first contact with Sean, founder's grandson, encouraging people to visit and enjoy the cuisine. It took me all of 30 seconds to know this young man was on the level and we sat down for drinks and ended up staying for dinner! The Siscillian Lemon drink I had was perfect and the wine was enjoyed by our dinner partners. We had the best Calimari we've ever had anywhere in the world plus 2 other dishes of clam linguini and an award winning pasta/Calimari dish that I would order weekly if I lived here. Sean's supporting staff of waiters was excellent and the kitchen obviously knows how to make people happy!! Put this place on your list and tell him Kris told you...
