Trattoria Al Ponte Del Megio — Restaurant in Venice

We came to this nice lookng restaurant in Venice what we did not know was it would be the worst of our whole trip. We got sited at our table the same time as another couple, after this the waiter did not give us the time of day. We ended up waiting 25min before we could order at the same time the other couple had gotten there drinks already. We where celebrating our honeymoon and wanted to start with a glass of Prosecco while waiting on the food. So we order food and a bottle of win and ask for the Prosecco and water while we waited. 30min goes by and still nothing, not even the water. And what comes next our food of course. The drinks come later and when everything set she asked if we stil want the Prosecco, we say maybe after, hopping the food will atleast lift our experience and we hopefully still get a good night out. Last year we happened upon this charming trattoria for lunch in October 2024 on our last day in Venice! We knew we would return! We were so impressed by the location, the service and the outstanding food. I told everyone I knew about the meal we had. My husband had the tagliatelle bolognese and I had the gnocchetti with tuna. Exceptional! We returned to Venice this week. Tonight we went back and hooray! The gnocchetti with tuna were on the menu! We started with a special appetizer, the stuffed zucchini flowers with anchovies and cheese. They were so light and delicious! Perfect to share! My husband chose lasagna and I had the gnocchetti. Exquisite! I can’t say enough about the love poured into the food here. I cook, and come from a family of cooks( Rome and Le Marche) and we are very fussy. Was craving something other than pasta, but also wanted something nearby the hotel so we stumbled across this restaurant by a canal.

We were able to grab a seat easily by 6:45pm (other customers who came in around 7:30 and later all had to wait as there were those who had called in for reservations)

I ordered a grilled fish of the day- they had 3 options, one of whack included sea bass cut the others were given to me in Italian (sorry can't help haha) I asked the waitress to recommend a more local/ fresh catch and she chose one of the Italian names. It was great! Would highly recommend it as it was a whole fish and not just a fillet. Cost was 20€ but other fish prices range from 16-20€ depending.
