Pescaria - Verona — Restaurant in Verona

Stopped by for a quick bite on our way to the city square in Verona and was a decent bite for what I assumed is a fastfood version of a seafood restaurant. disclaimer almost all if not all the seafood is frozen so when I use the term "fresh" its to mean that its not old and from some bagged grocery store product.. I hope

My wife and I ordered the calamari to share and the tuna sandwich as well as the grilled octopus.

Calamari - fried nicely but shrimp was fried with the shell on so I found it quite inconvenient to have to peel off the breading just to eat the meat. To note, the shrimp was rather small but I could tell the meat wasn't exactly fresh as the texture was more soft than firm. Squid rings were tender as were the octopus which was good. No sauce is provided with this which is disappointing (costs extra) but a lemon sufficed 3.5/5

Tuna sandwich - looked really good and the portion was more than adequate compared to what I was expecting. The taste on the other hand was rather bland and actually tasted more avocado and tomato than I did the tuna. Tuna was "fresh" enough to pass the test of quick eats. 3.5/5

Grilled octopus - serving size was good however the octopus was quite lacking in terms of texture and flavour which I attribute to the octopus being frozen a tad too long. 2/5

Service itself was decent as the waitress at the front didn't seem very interested in working there but a special shoutout had to be given to the worker (with a lip piercing) that was working at 110% speed. He was serving and cleaning endlessly so much so that my wife and I noticed that he hadn't stopped moving from the moment we entered. Hats...

We've been here yesterday. Sadly everybody who was after us got served before us, having similar dishes nonetheless. Usually in Milano or Rome the place is better organized, but here the service was OFF. I am sorry to write this because as always, and as pointed out by the manager, the fish is fresh and the ingredients are on top of their game. Unfortunately the waiter and waitress were absent, doing things like having small talk while watching us sit in front of our empty dirty plates. When we left, some girls came in and waited, not kidding, 3 minutes in front of the completely empty desk. They had to knock on the kitchen door to get the chef to go round up someone to take their order. I heard them even ask "c'è nessuno???" while the waiter was upstairs fixing the tables and chairs completely unable to hear, too absorbed in wanting to close the restaurant (and btw it was only 10:25 at this point). So, fish 10/10 (as always), service......

Pessima esperienza dal Pescaria. Va bene la fila estenuante, praticamente c'è in ogni loro ristorante. Ma una volta dentro non sono organizzati a sufficienza per ospitare la maggiorparte delle persone. Creando in primis un disagio per i poveri camerieri che devono dribblare l'eterna fila. Ordiniamo una lasagna di pesce e il panino di Halloween, quest'ultimo ci viene comunicato che verrebbe servito incompleto causa esaurimento ingredienti. Cosa che io, fossi un ristoratore non farei, in quanto si presuppone che ogni ingrediente abbia un senso e non siano aggiunti a casaccio per fare volume. Opto dunque per un panino con gamberoni al ghiaccio. Nel frattempo la cassiera comunica ad una cameriera di recarsi ai tavoli di sopra per fare pressing nel liberare i tavoli. Io rimango basito. Veniamo serviti e la lasagna viene servita non nel piatto ma in porzioni monouso di plastica o alluminio, insomma davvero poco invitante. Ma la cosa peggiore è stata che quando abbiamo affondato la forchetta abbiamo trovato all'interno un foglio di plastica. A quel punto abbiamo lasciato li la porzione e abbiamo, educatamente fatto presente l'accaduto dicendo di fare attenzione a servire un prodotto perché al suo interno c'è della plastica. La risposta è stata: "va bene grazie". Nessun rimborso, nessuna scusa nessun cambio di piatto. In definitiva il Pescaria è un fast food di pessima qualità, e chi è stato a Milano ricorderà perfettamente il tonno avariato e nero nei panini, che continua la sua mal gestione in ogni punto vendita. La sola cosa positiva? L'azienda che gli fa da pubblicità, purtroppo...
