Our evening at Hayashigaoka was a highlight for our time in Japan. This hidden gem is located in a residential neighbourhood high above the main town of Atami, with exceptionally good food and service. Upon arrival, we were ushered into our private dining room, and experienced wonderful hospitality for 3 hours for our 12-course fixed-menu meal of Japanese-Italian fusion, with a good wine list. My wife and I invited our guest to Aroma Fresca yesterday. We all have had a great dining experience at this Italian Japanese fusion restaurant. Each dish was beautifully presented. We were impressed by the creativity of the chef, who skillfully integrated Japanese element into Italian cooking. His Italian dishes were very delicious and memorable. A Hidden Gem!!

A small restaurant in a small Japanese styled house with only three private rooms for at most three groups at once.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, and took care of every little detail precisely.

It was an omakase course based menu (you can’t choose the dishes), but it was one of the best meals I have ever had. Excellent fusion of Italian food and Japanese ingredients.
