The cashier’s service could be improved, the owner of the store placing a simple sign to inform customers that they could get a seat only upon the purchase of beverages/foods. This simple act dispells all the bad service rendered by your cashier (refer to the photo, the moustache guy with glasses and tattoo). Guests are 99% tourists if not all, we came to Okinawa to enjoy and not receive any bad customer service by being told off for a stupid thoughtless act of the coffeeshop.
The burnt cheesecake tastes average, not creamy as the signage says hence it is misleading. The ice latte with double shot tastes mild, light and bitter. Honestly, blue bottle, philz tastes better. The skills of the barista is not at advanced level, therefore coffee also tastes average. I would say pricey for this taste, level of service rendered and comfort of the shop.
The sitting capacity in the coffee shop is extremely small, it caters only 14 seaters including 6 seats at the counter. The seats are uncomfortable, it is a round stool that swirls unsteadily. The door of the restroom could not even latch properly thus anyone from the outside may open it. This may cause unnecessary embarrasment if you wish to use it.
Overall, the bad service from a single male staff drags down your shop’s rating. Yet, the owner has not improve anything...
Read moreZhyvago is definitely a mature establishment that produces an excellent cup of coffee. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is unique and retro with a modern feel, and the curb appeal is enough to draw a crowd.
I'm always happy to try new coffee. It's one of my favorite things to do when travelling and I've tried 100s of different cups in dozens of places.
My synopsis: Excellent flavor and smooth texture, but too bitter.
I find everything I order to be bitter. Their normal black coffee (Americano) is bitter, their Mad Shakes are bitter, even their cold brew is bitter (gasp!).
Cold brew is the king of flavor with very little bitterness or acidity. It is a really easy cup of coffee to get right, and can quickly establish any coffee shop in the community. Zhyvago's coldbrew was my last attempt. I was hoping to get a good brew with low acidity, but just ended up with another bitter beverage.
There are many factors that affect coffee: brew time, grind size, water temperature, type of water used, roast time...I suspect the beans to be over-roasted.
If Zhyvago wants to reach top-tier coffee, I recommend they perfect their roast...Work on lower temperature or shorter roast duration.
I'm happy to come back and try another coldbrew once they make changes, but I don't want to be...
Read moreA bit disappointing… I usually visit the Recupremier branch, where the drinks are always consistent in flavor regardless of who prepares them. The espresso is always well-balanced and delicious, which I truly appreciate.
This was my first time visiting this particular location, and unfortunately, the quality did not meet my expectations. The coffee tasted quite watery, which took away from the richness of the latte.
The atmosphere itself was pleasant, and it’s unfortunate because ZHYVAGO is known for its in-house roasting. It feels like this branch may be more focused on tourists, which is a shame given the brand’s usual high standards. I didn’t expect such a noticeable difference in quality between locations.
Moving forward, I think I’ll continue visiting only the Recupremier branch.
Additionally, I did have some concerns regarding the service. The staff member at the register spoke very quietly, making it difficult to hear. Since this is a customer-facing role, I believe a warm smile and clear, friendly communication would go a long way in enhancing the overall experience.
Thank you...
