I wanted to like this place so much. An old couple runs it who are in their 80s or 90s. Further, the wife that provides the service was very kind.

Unfortunately it was a bad experience where we were overcharged and the food was below what other reviews had led us to believe we would get.

We were the only group in the restaurant.

First off, they have three lunch sets. We ordered off the lunch menu by pointing to the sushi set that was 1400¥, and the tempura set which was 2500¥. There is a premium sushi set that is also 2500¥.

Tempura wasn’t crisp, and some of the sushi seemed old, maybe because it was a Saturday and the office building it is in was closed they don’t do a big trade. It was a 2/5 or so for food, with the tuna rolls looking old and not tasting great.

But the part that made us write this review was when we paid and the old woman indicated that they had somehow given us a 2200¥ set that wasn’t on the menu we had. The difference was we got this old tuna roll for the extra 800¥.

It really felt like a shakedown to either get rid of old tuna or just to get some extra cash by serving us something not even on the lunch menu.

Overall not a great experience for us.

Anyways, glad others got great experiences. I’m rooting for...

Run by sweetest older couple you've ever met, whose genuine smiles and service make the delicious sushi all the better. Located in the basement of an office building, we were the only people there and they graciously welcomed us in on the later side of the evening. Their kindness cannot be overstated! The sushi was fresh and vibrant and delicious, at incredibly affordable prices. We've had far more expensive sushi with far less quality elsewhere. This place is a gem! At the end of the meal, the Mrs brought over a large globe and asked us to point out where we were from (we are from Colorado, USA). They wanted to know so much about where we were from and we joked around for another five minutes with them before they asked us to write on a piece of paper about our experience so they could hang it on their wall alongside others who had done the same. I hope you try this place. It was the best experience and best service we have had in over four weeks of touring Japan. This couple was astoundingly friendly and the sushi was delicious. They will forever live in...

Run by an elderly couple. As you would with your grandparents be kind and patient. The lady does front of house. She doesn't speak but English but we understood one another. They have their menu in English, which may be helpful for many tourists.

They have a lunch menu 11am -3pm but we were able to order from this at around 4.30pm. There are 3 options and each looks to offer great value for money. We opted for the special sushi lunch at ¥1400. This included 9 types of sushi, a cucumber roll, a pickles roll, savoury egg custard and miso soup. I can't tell you what all of the sushi was but I can tell you it was delicious. There was eel, prawn, tuna and octopus included. The savoury egg custard was hot, but so nourishing you were happy to burn your mouth to eat it up. The miso soup seemed to have a little lemon/citrus flavour, perhaps a touch of yuzu?

You're given hot green tea with your meal, which was nice. All in all a most excellent and mega great value meal!...

Set ¥2700 sushi & soup &egg It was an incredible sushi dinner !! I felt very satisfied with this meal. The grandma was so kind even I don't understand Japanese, she still tried to chat with me and always smiled! And the cook was also kind that said goodbye to me when I left🥺 For the food, I thought this is the best set you can buy with the 2700¥. The sushi was great!!! The sashimi is fresh and the rice also great!! The size of sashimi is so wonderful and thick! Besides, the egg and soup also good. Although the place is a little bit special that it in a commercial building, but don't worry, just enter the building and go down stairs! The atmosphere will take you back to the old times, it is not modern at all, I really enjoyed it. Anyway, this is the most impressive dinner for me during my trip in Japan, if I come back to Japan again, I will visit this restaurant definitely!
