I stayed here for 14,000 JPY on a weekend, which was quite cheap compared to the surrounding area.
It is located a few minutes walk from Nakasu-Kawabata Station. There are convenience stores, shopping malls, and shopping streets nearby, so it is convenient. The service is good, and they will check you in early if a room is available. As for the check-in time, I really like this hotel, because many Japanese hotels are stubborn and inflexible in not letting you check in until the check-in time even if the room is ready.
However, the room is EXTREMELY SMALL/no space to open a luggage and there is no view from the room, and the room layout is very strange and uncomfortable. The worst point is tgat the air conditioner is built into the ceiling, and no matter how much you adjust it, the wind blows directly on the bed, which is a very poor installation. Also, even if you want to contact the front desk, there is no front desk number on the phone, and it is very unfriendly (which is written on key card case).
The large public bath is clean, spacious, and comfortable.
The breakfast has many kinds of foods but everything is not well cooked or prepared. I prefer to have a breakfast at cafe or...

Staff were very professional and eager to help. Helped us book our next stay by calling ahead to a rural hotel. Gave us restaurant suggestions, and a local map with landmarks. Always had an English speaker available. Thank you to the staff (see photo)!
Rooms were modern, with the customary pyjamas of soft warm quality. My partner enjoyed the ones several times - amenities there were average to above average for a city hotel. Like most urban hotels, the room size is compact. There is a little table and side couch that allows one person to comfortably work.
Breakfast was a 5/5 experience. Wide variety of food, of good quality, with coffee and multiple juice choices. Plenty of space to eat at ease. I worked down there in the mornings, and it was a quiet, calm environment to enjoy my cup of coffee.
Location - good enough. Within a 5-15 minute walk of anything tourists would want to do in the city, or several train stations if you want to travel to Kyushu or the outskirts of town. There are more happening areas you could stay at, but for us this was a good mix of quiet and access to fun.
Would happily stay here...
Read moreI chose this hotel primarily for its convenient location and the positive reviews highlighting cleanliness and available services. Overall, I’d say it’s a good hotel with helpful staff. They offer amenities like an onsen, laundry facilities, and luggage forwarding—services that aren’t always available at other hotels.
That said, there were a few drawbacks. While the room was generally clean, it was noticeably dusty in places like the lamp and hangers, which made me question how often deep cleaning is done. The room was came with with a kettle, but there were no mugs or tea provided, so it wasn’t really usable.
At check-in, I mentioned I was celebrating a special occasion, but unfortunately, that was met with indifference at the first instance. Some staff were friendly, while others seemed a bit distant—possibly due to a language barrier, but it’s worth noting if you’re hoping for a more personalized experience.
If you're looking for a straightforward stay with a good location and services like public baths, this hotel could be a solid choice. Just temper expectations if you're celebrating...
