Mengarufu Tenmonkan Main Restaurant — Restaurant in Kagoshima

Wanted to give it 5 stars but the poor service received by the waitress there made it one star less. This ramen shop was located a the Tenmonkan 天文館 shopping district. Its main entry/store front is pretty narrow but you won’t miss it as their sign and oversized menu are outside. The menu offer 6 major kinds of Kagoshima ramen. The soup base is very good - not salty like I’m Tokyo and yet not too oily. It also comes with a taste of soy milk which makes the soup base so silky and smooth. If you order the 肉盛り (lots of meat) - the pork meat is so tender yet tasty and soft. The waitress served us was just run and forgetful. Visited Kagoshima in February 2018. It was my first meal after I landed and it just felt like paradise! It's very hard to find authentic and great quality ramen in Europe, specially with such a price, it is simply nonexistent.

It's a great experience for tourists to experience buying food from the ticket machine. It can be tricky if you don't understand Japanese or Kanji. But there is a menu with photo next to it, so it adds some fun to guess if you get it right😉

It's amazing to have come back again to this ramen restaurant! I came last year and met Sagan and today I met him again! He served me a very tasty miso ramen and hard noodle as requested. The soup had lots of flavors that went well when adding garlic paste available in store. Extremely recommendable!

Coming again to rejoice with very nice dish here, and stumbled upon with a unique Curry Ramen, Sagar's inspired dish.
