Sadly its just an other very tourist ish matcha cafe .nothing authentic about kagoshima. If you want to try TRUE kagoshima food this isnt it .First off, this place is immaculate—definitely a 5/5 for cleanliness. Everything was spotless, from the main area to the restroom, which was also pristine (another 5/5). The decor is modern and stylish, though it doesn’t really reflect much of Kagoshima’s local character. The staff were quick and friendly, and the food is undeniably Instagram-worthy—picture perfect, 5/5 for presentation.
However, I did notice two major issues. First, the matcha they use isn’t from Kagoshima, which is surprising given the region’s reputation for high-quality tea. Second, the prices are shockingly high for Kagoshima—actually higher than what you’d find in Tokyo. Considering that rent and wages are much lower here, it feels like this place is aimed at tourists rather than locals, especially those paying with stronger currencies than the yen. Even as a foreigner, I found the price for a single crepe to be outrageous.
This is the kind of spot you visit once, snap a fun photo for social media, and probably don’t return. These Instagrammable cafes rarely last once the initial hype fades. As for the taste, I found the crepe overwhelmingly sweet—the sugar overpowered everything else, and I couldn’t really enjoy the other ingredients.
In summary: beautiful and clean, but overpriced, overly sweet, and lacking local...
Read moreA very interesting place in the heart of Tenmonkan, where I tried my first matcha crepe. And I was not disappointed, a pleasant surprise indeed! The personal is lovely, and even when wearing a mask, you could feel their smile. The music contributes to a soothing atmosphere, which matches the personal’s kindness.
For my last day in Kagoshima, I had a sakura crepe and a Sakura matcha. And they were both delicious. So thank you for this...
Read moreThe kakegawa matcha brulee crepe is so good! I did not expect the combination of matcha and strawberry would taste this good. The crepe is eggy and buttery but you can still taste the matcha flavour. The balance between the matcha and the cream inside is really good. I really recommend this for those who like the actual matcha taste (not the sugary ones).
The store is really cute and the staff are...
