Japanese Tea & Coffee Pottery Cafe Touzan — Restaurant in Kanazawa

I found it rather pricey, especially what I’ve ordered (the dessert Japanese tea montblanc with edible golden leaf top), at 2800 yen (with the orange juice - not freshly pressed - and coffee totalling over the equivalent of 40 euros), but the place is in a very touristy spot, the café is clean and quiet, so I was ok with the pricing. The dessert was also good; not over 15 euros-worth good, but good. It’s an experience and the golden leave makes it more expensive. Grill your own dango, my favorite activity on a cold day 🤤If you’ve ever gone to ex cafe in Kyoto similar setup but more upscale and you get more dango for the price. I love the brown syrup dip it goes well with the plain or matcha dango 🍡

The cafe also has an inner ceramics shop if you want to purchase local china/ pottery. The 2nd floor is still being renovated but it’ll be a 2 floor cafe eventually with a view of Kanazawa castle.

An excellent place to refresh and chill out after a good walk in Kenrokuen. Traditional Japanese drinks were well presented. The accompanying desserts were delicious.
