In Kumamoto, I discovered a hidden teahouse cafe with a serene vibe, perfect for tea lovers. I tried the Tea and Sweet Set a few months back (¥605, possibly higher price now), featuring Chilled Sagara Tea and Ikinari-dango, a local confection. The Sagara Tea, a high-quality Kumamoto specialty, was beautifully green with a sweet, earthy aroma, low bitterness, and refreshing taste—perfect for the heat. The staff, despite initial language barriers, provided warm, exceptional service, with the young lady boss offering clear recommendations in fluent English. The Ikinari-dango, a traditional Kumamoto snack of steamed sweet potato wrapped in rice cake dough, was simple yet delicious, reflecting its humble origins. The teahouse offers a wide range of teas, and their recommendations ensure a delightful experience. A must-visit for tea enthusiasts! Sending love from overseas! 🌏💕

We got served the dango set and matcha latte. Their matcha latte lands in the top 5 out of all the 25-30 matcha lattes we had on our trip. It was pleasantly creamy, mild umami, with a satsifying after taste. The dango sampler was so delish. I especially loved the redbean, as it tasted so fresh and naturally sweet. Please please come check out this local gem, you will not be disappointed
