The sizzle of premium cuts on the teppanyaki grill filled the air, and the attentive staff welcomed us like honored guests.

The A5 Wagyu ribeye was the star of the night—richly marbled, buttery tender, and seared to smoky perfection. Cooked exactly to our requested [medium-rare], each bite was a revelation of flavor. Paired with the truffle-infused mashed potatoes and grilled seasonal vegetables (so fresh they tasted like they’d just been picked), every element harmonized beautifully.

This is by far the best place to eat. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and they clearly enjoy being there. They explain how everything works for their setup and each of the 6 amazing courses also came with descriptions and suggestions on how to eat to get the most out of your meal. Nakamura-San is a wonderful chef and has a wealth of experience and a very refined palate. Chelsea was very friendly and made a great effort to get to know us. The rest of the staff whose names I didn’t get were also so nice and helpful. We left full, happy, and feeling like we made new friends. I understand why they have regular customers- the people and the food make you want to keep coming back.

Nakamura and the rest of the staff were inviting, friendly, and spoke English very well! They were exceptionally accommodating and customized the menu for our two young children. The atmosphere is clean, peaceful, and very personal. The highlight was the DELICIOUS FOOD… the Sirloin and Filette were cooked to perfection and everything was kid approved!! We just arrived in Kyoto from spending 6 days in Tokyo, and here we ate better than we have at any other restaurants during our stay in Japan thus far!! I highly recommend Kyosaien to anybody...
