I was truly impressed by the waffles here. The surface was perfectly crispy, and the subtle flavor of Parmesan cheese made them absolutely delightful. The dessert muffins and the cookies made with miso were also gently sweet and very tasty.
The ingredients are carefully selected, using rice flour and organic products, which gives everything a wholesome and thoughtful touch. The owner’s sensibility, shaped by travels around the world, shines through in both the menu and the interior design, creating a wonderfully international atmosphere while still being in Kyoto.

Read moreThis is hands down the best café I’ve ever been to. My friend and I only had two days in Kyoto, and we made Carinho our very first stop both mornings. Absolutely worth it. The white chocolate raspberry muffins were my favorite, along with the banana latte (never had one before this!). The matcha drinks and matcha muffins were also incredible.
The café is two stories, and we loved the cozy upstairs area. It felt like it captured the peaceful, creative spirit of Kyoto perfectly. Juno was amazing, and the rest of the staff were also incredibly warm and welcoming. It certainly made the experience special.

We have ordered eggs/ bacons and overnight oat yoghurt bowl alongside with matcha and hojicha lattes. The lattes were really good, well portioned and beautifully prepared. However the yoghurt bowl, in my opinion, was too small for the price. Some part of the granola were too hard to chew on. The overnight oats were too dry, as if the yoghurt and oat portion were not balanced. For the eggs and bacon, the waffle was good, but other parts were just regular.
