Dotombori Kamukura - Kyoto Porta — Restaurant in Kyoto

Tl;dr this is what I expected of a Japanese ramen visiting Japan, with rich broth, tender pork meat and delicate ramen. A must try when you visit Kyoto Station!

The broth is savory, warmth and rich in valour. It is quite rich but not too heavy. Combined with the tender and flavourful pork slices, it is the best place for you to stop by, eat and have a good time with friends and family. Try the set menu which come with minch meat with rise, a very nice addition to the ramen menu. Also recommend buying the gyoza which is very nice as well! Good-sized bites, crunchy on the outside with hearty diced meat in the inside.

The atmosphere is alright, nothing special about it. But the service is really fast, so you don't have to worry to wait for long after you order, especially if you are really hungry. It is also very accessible and surrounded by many other stalls where you could grab some more snacks or even dessert if you crave more food.

In conclusion, a very nice Ramen restaurant and highly recommended!...

We ordered four noodle soups (two with delicious fried chicken), a soft drink (Coke), and fried rice.

In my opinion, I love the large-sized bowl; it makes it easier to eat, and the noodles are very presentable and delicious looking. The regular size noodles for 820 yen would cost double the amount in Toronto, Canada! From my first sip of the creamy, tasty broth, it made my stomach feel warm and happy. No extra spices or condiments were needed, even though there is an assortment for customers to spice up their noodles. The fried, boneless chicken 🍗 is crispy, chewy, juicy, and yummy.

I highly recommend ordering the delicious Combo #2 for 1,470 yen (including tax). I give five stars for the delicious food, but the service gets four stars because we didn't receive water for the table.

Kamukura is definitely a five-star spot. We will also be eating at Dotombori Kamukura Lucua Osaka (どうとんぼり神座 ルクア大阪店).

Kyoto Porta is crazy busy but I was hungry and grabbed the first place that looked like I could get in (in hindsight I should have gone one block to the same set up under Yodobashi Camera which has a ton of restaurants too) so I punched in my order into the automated machine, waited a minute and a one seater at the counter area.
