This place had made a statement to me. Prior to visiting Japan, I thought I already love ramen. There is no shortage of ramen shops in the Ph, and I've sampled quite a lot of ramen shops and Japanese restaurants already that I've concluded I totally love ramen.
However, when we went for a food adventure, hungry with all the walking we did in Kyoto, we check out this ramen shop. Just right after tasting the first spoonful of ramen, I knew, authentic ramen is the bomb. I did not know ramen could get that much more delicious. I didn't know I could love ramen even more. 😅
The owner speaks pretty fluent english and she related that they personally made the noodles of their ramen. From her voice, you could really hear the pride for the work that they do. Well, if I was the one producing that super oishi ramen, I'd definitely be proud too. Definitely a must try to cap an amazing adventure in Kyoto. It's just very near Fushimi Inari, just google your...
Read moreWe have been in Japan for over a week now and wanted to try Ramen for the first time from somewhere that wasnt a chain or heavily tourist crowded. After a little searching we found this shop in an alleyway surrounded by houses. We were met with Hotel California playing inside, an empty bar, and a young cook happy to greet us. The ramen was excellent! Everything we had hoped for. Noodles were cooked perfectly. The pork we selected was so tender it fell apart in your mouth and dissolved, and the broth was absolutely fantastic. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about our experience and I sincerely hope more people find this place.
Best of all, for english speaking tourists, this place is well versed in english and their inside menu is also in english, so have no worries about being lost on what...
Read moreExcellent ramen restaurant located a short walk away from the Fushimi Inari shrine. There was a short wait to be seated inside, but we were greeted and hosted by a nice young woman who had great English. The whole time she was very kind and welcoming even as foreigners, which is not always the case when dining out. The food itself was very good as well. The charsiu pork ramen had a rich and savory broth, but not overly salty or umami, and tender juicy cutlets of pork, nice chewy noodles, and the egg was perfectly cooked. A bowl of ramen cost around 1,000¥, which is a very good price for the serving you get. Definitely a recommended spot if visiting the area, the food and service has been some of the best in not just Kyoto but better than places in Osaka...
