FUKUSHICHI — Restaurant in Kyoto

The cafe is cute and the service is great, but we were disappointed in the puddings. We tried them in Kyoto in different places and we didn't suspect that here they do it with white beans instead of eggs. So you will not get a nice eggy silky texture or the taste, unfortunately these puddings taste a little bit like a cookie soaked in water. Maybe I missed a warning somewhere that the pudding is different and I shouldn't expect the taste I wanted... Well, just wanted to warn other people about it, I guess some will...

A very unique take on pudding by using white beans and it works! There’s a nice bite and texture of the pudding, on a hot day it is such a delight. The original, matcha and roasted matcha has a nice bitter note but not overpowering and it’s not just sweet through out. Such a nice place to have dessert over looking the river with cherry blossom in spring while you take a scoop of a local white bean pudding! Life...
