Yuugetsu — Restaurant in Kyoto

We have their tofu set lunch for ¥2200 and it was amazing. The tofu was very smooth and everything else was refreshing. The weather was quite cold outside and we felt much better after having a hot meal. Just a note that their Japanese style seats are tatami without under table hole to put your feet. Therefore if you cannot seat with folding feet for the whole meal, you will have to choose the side table near the windows (seats are arranged side by side in one row). I don’t know where are this five star reviews are coming from. Two of us spent 14000+ for shabushabu sets with mushroom and udon. The food was below average, the service is not good because I asked for tea and it wasn’t added, not only that, I asked for more sesame sauce and they tried to charge 200 yen at the end without telling me when serving. The beef quality was very average as well. Overall very underwhelming, especially with this price I should be able to get pretty good...

We stumbled across this after visiting the bamboo forest, I would highly recommend this place.

We had a wagu set menu in a fondue style, the service is impeccable and the food was perfect. I can’t recommend this place enough if you want an authentic Japanese meal.

This is not a tourist trap restaurant it’s very reasonably priced for the service and quality. The staff made us feel very welcome and they spoke very good English.
