Okonomiyaki (Japanese savoury pancake) is a popular dish in Japan among local and foreigners alike. Personally, I've never really liked okonomiyaki (yes, I get the irony, if you are a Japanese speaker), I've always found it a mish-mash of different flavours and textures. My wife feels the same way, but to complete our Japanese food bingo card we ensured we included it on our visit.
So how do you rate a restaurant that serves a dish you know you don't care for?? Fairly well actually. Despite being a Saturday night we were seated right away, they cook it on a hot plate out the back and then serve it to you on the inbuilt hot plate on your table. What a fun way to eat. It was an enjoyable experience and a good version of a meal that is as I remember it from 30 years ago.

They don't speak English but they do have an English menu/instruction book. The service was top tier and they were very inviting. My wife and I split a large yakisoba and large betayaki (even with the large upgrade both dishes were under 1000 yen!). The beef yakisoba was super flavorful and very well made.
