Hands down the best cocktails I've ever had anywhere (including a lot of incredible bars in London and NYC). When we walked in and got the 'we don't have a menu, tell me what you like' thing I felt like rolling my eyes but after the first sip didn't want to leave. The owner's ability to balance tastes, aromas, is like nothing I've come across before. A cherry liqueur cocktail that went right up the edge of too sweet but stayed perfectly balanced...a grappa cocktail that gave some of that sharpness that quickly melted off. I’m always searching for non-alcoholic bars, and this one is really special! They’re a distillery and so create drinks around their own non-alc spirits. We ordered one alcoholic and one non-alc drink, both were quite tasty! We also asked about the spirits themselves and got a tasting of all 3 of the ones sold now, along with two new ones that are being tested. The bartender was so kind, and she even gave us a tonic to try the spirits with after the first taste of each, and poured a small amount of their NA bitters separately for us to sniff. NA never quite replicates the mouthfeel of alcohol, but these mocktails really sing with strong flavors and noses. A bit expensive (1500 yen per cocktail) but...

A fantastic experience and rather unique for Kyoto and Japan. Owned by a top Japanese bartender, you’ll find this place features a house-distilled ‘gin’ that comes in 4 flavors. Much more complex than say ‘Seedlip,’ you can get a hand crafted non-alcoholic cocktail here made in the same fashion as any high-end Japanese cocktail bar.
