We found this place by accident, as it didn't even overtly look like a restaurant as we passed by (on a street full of little restaurants that were full to bursting).
The atmosphere was very unique, almost regally-English, and the owner was absolutely wonderful with spectacular service skills. The food was sushi on rice, which provided us a great variety of different (and spectacular quality!) sushi to try. The owner topped it off with a splendid fruit-cake dessert on the house, to boot! We left with very full stomachs, very satisfied palates, and our wallets barely noticed the difference!
It was so good that when we saw a couple looking warily at the menu on the roadway, we felt obliged to run out and let them know that it was, in fact, a restaurant, and a darned good one at that!
It's places like these that truly sadden me that Japanese culture really does not let one tip for a great meal/service, but hopefully a very well-deserved...
