SL ROMAN CAFE — Restaurant in Kyoto

Terrible! Avoid this place. We had 2 sandwiches (1000 yen each) The croque-monsieur, was a peace of bread with melted cheese, not toasted, the ham-cheese sandwichs was just 2 slices of bread with poor ham and cheese. The guy before me ordered beer and got a far bigger beer in plastic than me (in glass). It took them 15 minutes to make 2 sandwiches. Oh and no English at a (very) touristic place. They spelled the name of the place wrong (SL-RORAN cafe) on the menu's and signs. Cash only, and they forgot (no bad intentions)...

We were pleasantly surprised! Looking for a place to get out of the summer heat and eat something light. It was tasty! I had the shrimp avocado “dog” which was served warm and had good flavour in the avocado sauce. My husband had the pizza toast and enjoyed it. They prepare the food to order and you sit in a hall with old pianos and train engines. It was a nice place to get a good bite of food and rest before...

The strength of the cafe is that it's almost in the romance train station and it serves quickly. So it's quite suitable to grab a quick lunch here. The taste is OK. The weakness is that the environment is bad. They don't clean the tables frequently. And you have to...
