RUN don’t walk, to this lovely little sushi joint that welcomes you like family and serves sushi so good, we came back the very next night! We are going to be so sad to leave tomorrow, because I could have eaten here every day for a week and still wanted more. We tried whale bacon, fatty tuna, regular tuna, miso soup and olive salmon in various forms (rolls, sashimi, nigiri etc). The pricing is outstanding for the quality and serving sizes. The sushi chef, per our request, recommended a whisky for my husband that he said was to die for. We did not have reservations as we just came across the restaurant while looking for another one. Nice cozy atmosphere, sat at the bar watching the masterful chef prepare our plates.

Service was professional and friendly.

My partner and I arrived and were seated at 4pm, therefore being the first ones there - but the place was full by 4:30pm, so be willing to wait a while if you visit during peak hours. Also note the restaurant reserves the right to stop service if food runs out!
A couple of other things to note - this is cash-only, and the team does speak English.
A must-visit in Kyoto. Kudos to the team at...
