What can I say about a place where the heart of the owner is so sincere and sends you off with warm, well wishes that made your own heart swell. One man show, perfectly executed food, impressive presentation, charming atmosphere, and friendly service. He was so accommodating to foreigners. Stumbled across Trattoria Casa Verde entirely by accident. Our last night in Kyoto and we were using a laundry mat before packing luggage so we wanted somewhere local for dinner while our washing completed. The google reviews of this place are strong so decided to try it.
A small welcoming corner store with a delightful chef. There wasn’t a single customer when we arrived after 8:30pm. He welcomed us, set the tables and took our order. The atmosphere is very cozy and watching him prepare your dishes individually is nice. Amazing food, very authentic, reasonably priced; have been to Italy multiple times and this place rivaled it, completely exceeded expectations. Lasagna and pizza were excellent.
