The most delicious and healthy food I’ve had in all of Japan, maybe even the world.. but I’ll settle for saying they served easily the best veggie burger and tofu I’ve ever tried 🥰… The food was SO fresh and flavorful, with good portions! I loved how saucy the burger was, and it had a nice thick slice of caramelized onion in the middle (the tomato was removed in the photo). The tofu was my favorite part of the Buddha bowl, it was soft-firm inside with a crispy exterior and sautéed in peanut sauce 🤤! The muffin had earl gray tea flavor with apple pieces. Everything was made so wonderfully! ♥️
They crafted and (to-go) packaged everything with such great care, but it took about an hour both visits. I got the food to-go because it usually took about the same wait time to be seated and my hotel was close.
The staff were sooo incredibly kind and friendly! Honestly though, this place was small and understaffed (they’re hiring!) so they had some difficulty managing the high customer demand, and their open hours are quite limited… so definitely try to make this place a priority!! They deserve the support and you’ll have a tasty reward.
I want people to know how great this place is so when I return to Kyoto some day, they will still be around! I know I’ll be dreaming about it until then… 😋♥️ I wish they had a recipe book or a branch in New York City! I would love to eat their food all the time 😭
Also! The restaurant is located down the stairs located on the far left (of a hotel building iirc?), it can be hard to see the opening. GPS was turning me toward the wrong side, so it was a...
Read moreOne word for this place…WOW!!! If you’re in Kyoto and don’t come here, you’ve missed one of the best food experiences in this city. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
The chef and owner produces such flavourful food using high quality ingredients. No shortcuts taken and her passion and high standards are carried through into every dish. The menu is rotated every week and I had the privilege of trying the falafel sandwich, burger and Thai green curry, all of which were out of this world delicious. Don’t miss the soup and rosemary potatoes, equally all delicious!
The muffins are a whole other story, get to them before they sell out!
Tomomi, you really made our trip to Kyoto so much more enjoyable feeding us with your soul nourishing delicious food and drinks - my mother really enjoyed your homemade ume syrup whiskey. Jeremy, thank you for your attentive personal service, you created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere for us.
Thank you for making our bellies very happy!! Our faces smile with happiness and peace is...
Read moreWe found this vegetable forward spot right around the corner from where we were staying. The menu is small (one could say focused), but each thing we tried was exceptionally good. The bahn mi had really good, crusty bread, which is not easy to find in Japan. The bibimbap was just perfect. My wife finds tofu to be hit or miss for her, but this version joined the clean plate club. I'm not usually one to comment on the service, but the staff there all seem really nice. I followed our server's recommendation to try the lentil soup and I am very glad that I did. I was admittedly skeptical of the vegan ice cream, but it was incredibly good. We both eat meat, but we're always looking for ways to try other approaches, and we would recommend this spot to anyone. We look forward to coming back. One last thing. It can be easy to miss as you walk by. Look for the board with a sign outside. You have to walk down some stairs to get...
