We had an amazing dinner at Kyoto Station Restaurant Ramen & Japanese BBQ Yakiniku (Halal Vegan) Zen, located just a short walk from M’s Est Kyoto Station South — super convenient if you’re staying nearby or searching for something “halal near me”!
The food was excellent — we tried the wagyu burger, wagyu steak rice bowl, and ramen, and everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The wagyu was incredibly tender, and it’s great to find a place in Kyoto that serves authentic halal wagyu dishes with so much care.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke good English. The restaurant’s atmosphere is cozy, clean, and very welcoming for Muslim travellers. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the food and service definitely justifies it.
If you’re around Kyoto Station and looking for a delicious halal option — especially for wagyu, burger, steak, or ramen — this place is definitely...
Read moreI walked here late at night looking to grab some ramen as the other ramen shop near my hotel left me disappointed, but unfortunately they were out of ramen for the night. I tried the double cheeseburger which turned out to be very good. It is a smashburger styled burger that uses waygu beef, which per the background my server, Nana, is selected from the best beef in Japan. The burger is just a basic classic cheeseburger, but I think for something like a waygu burger, that is necessary to let the beef flavors show. I liked that they open late and that the people were all very friendly and happy. The restaurant is close to Kyoto Station, probably about a 10 minute walk for most people from the Hachijo East Entrance (I’m not 100% sure, it was a 5 minute walk from my hotel which is about a 5 minute walk from the station, but I do tend...
Read moreThis place is a huge tourist trap. I didn’t even realize the prices until we started looking at the menu. It’s waaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced for the food you get. The meat is pretty good, but the portion size to price point is insane. When searching for a place to eat around the area, this place keeps popping up on google, which made us intrigued. I should have known by the sheer amount of only tourists eating here. The bill came and it was wrong two times. (I still believe we were overcharged) And to top it off, they asked us for a tip!!! I’ve been in Japan for over a week, and no other restaurants or food places have asked us for a tip! (Which I wouldn’t mind if the service and food was amazing, but it definitely was not) I just want to warn other tourists in the area. You can find much much better...
