Around 14,000¥ including breakfast on weekends/holiday seasons which was reasonable. As a hotel in Kyoto station Hachijo exit area, this is the best hotel in the region. However the hotel has problem with the room cleaning employee quality which should be improved immediately.
The service (including public bath, free drink service) is very good except the room cleaning service. The front check in was effective with no stress. However, for free drink service, you can take them to your room only after 17:00, otherwise you need to consume them in the restaurant area. Why is this necessary?? this is not convenient. I suggest the hotel to get rid of this regulation which is not convenient for guests. By the way, the coffee is extremely bad I suggest them to change the beans...
The room is large with modern hardwares. The bath and the toilet is clean and big enough. They have room ware and shoes for internal use (can go to the public bath and the restaurants with room ware style).
The breakfast was the best. I strongly believe that the breakfast is one of the best in all hotels of same kind in entire Japan. I recommend that you include the breakfast which you can taste the Obanzai/Japanese small dish serving style.
Why -1 star? As I have been saying, the room cleaning employee. I saw a young lady who was cleaning the rooms. She saw me in the corridor and there was no greeting. I was very surprised with her behavior. Yes I was there at around 12:00 so she might not like it but still I am the guest. Actually other employees who seem to be non Japanese did not greet me other time. In addition, when I checked the room on 2nd day, I noticed that the sink stopper of the toilet was removed and put on near the tap up side down leaving a big hole on the sink... I must ask the hotel management to train and educate them better. Do the job correctly and greet guests when they see guests in...
Read moreAmazing experience! We stayed here during a recent trip to Kyoto. The location is just minutes away from Kyoto Station on foot. There is a 7 Eleven right across the street.
The rooms were small but super functional and inviting. The bed was comfortable and cozy. Bathroom was fully stocked with amenities like tooth brush, hair brush, cotton pads, ear swabs, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
My favorite parts were the breakfast and the public bath. The bath was larger than other hotels and had both an indoor and outdoor bath. Plenty of shower stalls, even when it’s crowded. There was also a hot rock room which was a nice treat after a long day of walking around in Kyoto.
I highly recommend including breakfast in your stay. It’s a buffet style and has tons of options. I like that they featured many Kyoto specialities like obanzai (Kyoto style side dishes, like Korean banchan), kuzu, warabi mochi, and Kyoto style steamed egg sandwich. They also had plenty of western foods like cereal, assortment of breads, scrambled eggs and sausages.
Oh and my the drink bar! It’s available almost any time and easy to access. My favorite was the matcha latte🥰
They also offer luggage storage on the day of departure which was really convenient and allowed us to make the most of our last day in Kyoto.
I highly recommend this hotel for your...
Read moreI recently stayed at this lovely hotel a couple of weeks ago and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting/staying in Kyoto. It is ten out of ten! Giving it five stars for rooms, service and location. It is true that if breakfast and dinner is not included in your package I believe you would need to pay around 2,500 yen (breakfast) which comes out to $17 dollars but it is worth every single penny! Someone on here commented a year ago on the food and mentioned it “wasn’t that great” and “low quality” Not sure what was offered at that time but it is possible the hotel read their review and upgraded their menu since then because I found it to be top quality. Everything is super clean, organized and neat. There was a serving spoon for every single item on the menu. All perfectly labeled so that there is no confusion. The staff is also super attentive and made sure items were replenished. Japan is pretty safe in general and at this hotel you can’t even utilize the elevators unless you are staying here. Love this!
I also stayed at Sakura Terrace for a few nights and there is no comparison, at all! I’d choose Royal Twin Hotel any day!! Several folks posted pictures of the rooms, and outdoor dining area. Instead I am posting a few videos of the lovely indoor dining area.
Can’t recommend this...
