Dishonest restaurant that tries to scam tourists.
I ordered the chutoro bowl (medium fatty tuna) and they served me akami (regular tuna). The waitress who served it to me called it chutoro and the chef came out and insisted it is chutoro.
Look at the picture. The deep red color of the tuna clearly shows that this isn’t chutoro. I took one bite and it clearly tasted like akami, not chutoro. It wasn’t even good akami. 5800 yen for a chutoro bowl is already very expensive by Japan standards but I was ok to pay since this is a touristy area but what I am not ok with is ordering one thing and getting something else that is of much lower quality and not what I order at all.

Read moreThis place is amazing. The food was absolutely fantastic; We got the wagyu steak with rice… it comes with soup, a little dessert, & some other sides to eat with your food. The ice cream was the softest texture I’ve ever had; Only wished I got another cone! The staff were all very kind and were expert with their English-speaking for tourists. The artwork inside was marvelous & awe-inspiring. This was our first stop when my partner and I got off in Arashiyama, and we did not regret walking into here. Calming atmosphere with a relaxing environment. Air-conditioning made the experience just that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend dropping by for your hunger needs! Great job...

We spent almost 21,000 yen for five people, a...
