FARO Chinese Bar — Restaurant in Nagoya

The lunchtime menu includes dandan noodles, chicken white soup ramen, hot and sour soup ramen, and spicy Hot noodles. I chose "dandan noodles with soup". Although it is self-service, it came with rice and zha cai.

It looks creamy, but it's a solid spicy soup. It went well with the thin noodles. The dish was visually appealing, with spherical minced meat and sliced zha cai arranged in the center.

As the name of "Chinese Bar" suggests, it seems that dinnertime is mainly served a la carte. A variety of drinks are also available, including alcoholic beverages. Next time I would like to go to...

女服務員態度惡劣。開門想詢問是否有位置，先是急著把我們帶出店門。然候雙手搖擺，嘴裡邊用不耐的語氣說：滿了滿了（中文）。我們看見窗邊還有兩個空桌，問後她又用日文說reservation。但這又是在說謊，我們後來在附近拉麵店用餐到一半想起有東西忘在旅館回去拿，已經過了快30分鐘，那兩桌還是空的。抱持著好意回去告訴他們，其實這樣的做法和說法是很失禮的，但他們明顯不覺得抱歉。看了其他評價發現這家店給人不歡迎外國人的感覺也不是第一次了。建議直接在店門口貼上「外國人不歡迎」的標語。節省雙方的時間。

しかし、店内の窓際には明らかに2つの空席があり、それを指摘すると今度は「リザベーション」と日本語で答えられました。ですが、これは嘘でした。その後、近くのラーメン店で食事中に宿に忘れ物を思い出し、30分ほど経って店の前を再び通ったところ、その2席はまだ空いたままでした。

私たちは好意を持って「その対応や言い方は失礼だと思います」と伝えに戻りましたが、その女性スタッフには謝意も反省も見られませんでした。

他のレビューを見ても、このお店が外国人を歓迎していない姿勢は明らかです。正直に「外国人お断り」と店の入り口に書いておいたほうが、双方の時間を無駄にせず済むと思います。

The attitude of the female staff member was extremely rude.

We opened the restaurant door to ask if there were any available seats, but she rushed us out without explanation. Then, waving her hands in an irritated way, she said “滿了, 滿了” (in Chinese), which means “full.” It was not only abrupt but also culturally insensitive, and this is truly inappropriate way to speak to anyone.

We noticed two empty tables by the window. When we asked about them, she switched to Japanese and said “reservation,” but it was clearly a lie. Later, while dining at a nearby ramen shop, we remembered we had forgotten something at our hotel and returned nearly 30 minutes later — the same two tables were still empty.

We returned to tell them — with goodwill — that their manner and expression were impolite and can be improved, but the staff member showed no sign of apology or gratitude.

After reading other reviews, it became clear that this is not the first time they show the tendency of not welcoming foreigners. If that’s their policy, just put up a sign that says “No Foreigners Allowed” at the entrance would save everyone...

We try to get in but the waitress kept speaking Japanese to me and I told her I didn’t speak Japanese. I told her 2 dining, she went inside and came back out and said I need reservations to eat here. I am not sure if it is because we were foreigners and got the brush off lie to us not to eat there. We end up getting dinner at...
