#702 Cafe & Diner — Restaurant in Osaka

On Dec 22, 2018, I was visiting from the US with my mother who is disabled and requires use of a walker. We decided to try this locale for dinner. The young, male host was initially helping another patron to their table. When he came, I motioned and requested a table for two, and he appeared to be ready to take us back until he saw my mother’s walker. At this point he told me that all the tables were reserved and turned us away while moving the menu stand as though they weren’t taking anymore customers. We did not question or say anything further. To add insult to injury, as we turned away, he just moved the menu stand back and helped the customers behind us (it was clear they did not have reservations).

I find this discrimination absolutely abhorrent and disappointing. It reflects poorly...

The place itself looks fine, and being on the 7th floor offers a decent view. But the service was absolutely unacceptable. We waited in line for 15 minutes with young children (under 6), and no one informed us about needing to sign a waiting sheet. Then, a couple of Japanese customers arrived, signed the sheet, and were seated immediately. We signed as well and waited on a bench for over 30 minutes. Staff walked past us, looked directly at us, and said nothing—treating us as if we didn’t exist.

We tried asking in English how much longer the wait would be, but were completely ignored. Eventually, we left. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The way they treat non-Japanese customers is deeply concerning. It makes you wonder if this kind of service is even legal or if there’s a way...

We reserved a time for the Sailor Moon pop up cafe and while it did have some very fun themed items you could order and collectable coasters/posters the food itself was kind of not yummy aside from how nice it looked. Very expensive but we expected that before coming here. The coffee with the art printed on it was done with a thin sheet of rice paper which was slimy when you tried to drink it; also you didn't get to actually pick the design you get it was random out of four and I got the one I wanted the least. The staff were polite and the cafe was very clean just wish the food tasted as good...
