Super place!! Stumbled by this little nook in a side street of Osaka, looking for some shelter from the cool evening after quite a wet day. Our plan was to have a quick drink before settling down at our hotel. Before we knew it 3 hours had passed and we had such a great time speaking to the owner and just getting to know the locals. Jean was nice enough to give us his recommendations for Kyoto (the next on our journey) before we bid everyone farewell, having sampled his connection of Japanese Whiskey! Osaka Salon is an oasis! Jean is such a great guy to chat with whether it’s in Japanese, English, or French. It was a great opportunity to learn more about Japan in regards to culture, society, and even politics from someone who has a global perspective. He has a good selection of Japanese whiskies to sample and an even more impressive collection of vinyl he plays. You want pizza? He’ll dial up a spot down the street and you can walk down and pick it up, come back and pick out some old school records to spin. Want other food recs, no prob.
