How can it be that the best meal I had in Osaka is in this quirky Vietnamese restaurant that has a somewhat topsy-turvy decor?
The food were brilliant, with an extensive selection of dishes, lovely and reasonably priced lunch sets, and flavours that were bold and deep.
We ordered these:
Pho Ga with Thit Kho To Lunch Set (YUM) The chicken pho was delicious, the broth tasty and the noodles and boiled chicken perfectly cooked. The rice and pork was mild and appetising.
Pho Bo Lunch Set The beef pho were also really delicious and you can choose which beef cut to have.
Cha Gio Trung Egg rolls set that were crispy and succulent. They also give a pork roll with it and the rice that comes in the pot was fragrant and perfectly pairs with the rolls.
Goi Du Du Xanh Really crunchy young papayas mixed in a tangy and umami sauce. The shrimp crackers provide a textural boost to each bite.
Black Sesame Che A lovely finale of black sesame soup with rice cakes and jellies that hinted on sweetness.
Lotus Tea Fragrant and lulling. This is one of my favourite variety of tea out there and they do a good one, which complements the explosions of flavour in their food.
Will come back here again next time I am in...

The star of the show was the chicken thigh that came with the lunch plate. It was hands down the best chicken we have ever had in our lives. It was crispy, juicy, had citrus/acidity, and a little bit of spice. We ended up ordering two more orders of that chicken.
TDLR everything we had was delicious but for the chicken alone this restaurant is an absolute must try in Osaka. I will dream of this chicken....
Read moreThe best Vietnamese food I’ve found in Japan. Everything was pretty authentic and delicious. We enjoyed the spring rolls, papaya salad, grilled chicken with salted shrimp, beef with lemongrass skewers, and beef pho.
The service is also very quick. We didn’t wait long before food started coming out of the kitchen for our large group of 6.
They also sell some Vietnamese spices and other food items.
UPDATE: the lunch set is an excellent deal! ¥1000 and it’s a lot of food! The Bún Chả Giò set and the spicy beef pho set were delicious! There was a little bit of a wait on a Sunday for lunch but it...
