Had a late dinner at Okanno Sushi and was graciously welcomed by the host and chef. We were delighted by their service and welcoming atmosphere despite the restaurant being full! The food was absolutely delicious with a very generous fish to rice ratio. We each ordered the 7 piece omakase and shared a sashimi platter and were very happy with the quality of the food. We were even more happy with the conversation and warmth of our hostess and chef as they asked us how we enjoyed Japan and even recommended their favorite foods to try in Osaka! They even walked each of their patrons out of the restaurant and said their own personal farewells. This is a hidden gem in Japan and we would be more than happy to...

We visited Okkan no Sushi twice during our trip to Osaka for the World Expo—and we’re so glad we did! Every piece of sushi is carefully crafted by the chef, with standout favorites like the uni and chutoro. All the ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the sushi rice had just the right portion—perfectly balanced to complement the fish without overpowering the taste.

What made the experience even more memorable was the warm hospitality. The chef and the lady weren’t just running a restaurant—they were genuinely hosting us. We left not only satisfied with the flavors but also touched by their kindness.
