Dynamic Kitchen & Bar Hibiki Nakanoshima Festival Plaza — Restaurant in Osaka

My partner and I ate here about a week ago. When we went in, there were no customers, which should have been the first red flag because it should have been busy on a Saturday night. Anyway, we were shown to a table and we were planning to order 2 orders of the 6 piece sashimi set (1 for each person). The menu also indicated minimum 2 orders for the sashimi sets. When we placed our order, the waitress assured us that 1 order of the sashimi set would be enough for us and we could always order more. We also ordered a bowl of soba noodles. The sashimi was okay. Soba noodles weren’t our favourite, but that could just be our taste. The problem was when we got the bill. First, we noticed an extra 2000 yen charge and when we asked about it, the person ringing us up didn’t know what it was and had to grab the waitress. The waitress looked surprised that we asked, and then said it was a table charge, 1000 yen per person. We were never told about there being a table charge so that was a shock. Second, after we paid, we noticed that they did charge us for 2 orders of sashimi even though they only gave us one. To summarize, food not that great but the worst thing was the service not being honest and upfront about table charges. I don’t think this was an issue due to a language barrier because the waitress spoke fluent English. It was strange that the other staff didn’t know we were charged for the table. If table charges were usual for this place, she should have known what it was for and wouldn’t have needed to get the waitress.

Update: I looked at another review from 8 months ago that also complained about not being told about the table charge, and the restaurant said sorry they didn’t know how to explain this to the customer. They had 8 months to figure out how to explain this to customers,...

Terrible!! Waited 40 minutes for the sukiyaki but they don’t even know how to make sukiyaki! The only vegetable in the sukiyaki is only ONIONs. No green vegetable, and you have to pay ¥500 extra if you want to add tofu! In all other Japanese restaurants tofu and green vegetable are already included! I really liked the atmosphere here. Sashimi were really good, it melts in your mouth. I really like the desserts too. Prices are not that high for the quality of food and service that you get.
