atmos dining — Restaurant in Osaka

It was bound to happen… our first awful dining experience in Osaka. Surprised it was at the 5-star Conrad Int’l in Yodoyabashi Osaka.

Where to begin: Food NY hot dogs… cheap “ meat dogs” not even all beef dogs… the type of hot dog you find in a cheap dining fast food store. Rating: 0 Pizza… can get a better store bought frozen pizza… no taste…too chewy. Rating: 1 Pastrami sliders: too much bun… too much cheese… little if any pastrami… cheap. Rating: 0 Buffalo Wings… Franks flavored should be hot and good but these were so mild they bordered on sweet. Rating: 1 Why even have a buffet? This food was awful. Surely hurts the Conrad brand… better not to have a buffet. Rating system: 1-10 with 1 being the worst Desserts: Rating: 1 Must gave been a strawberry themed dessert assortment as everything was too sweet and tasted awful. Japan sweets are about quality with subtle taste profiles. This selection was anything but. We had afternoon tea here a couple weeks prior and that was befitting of the Conrad brand. Service: Rating : 1 So slow to clear the tables…

After this awful dining experience I wouldn’t suggest anyone go here for any special occasion. For the price, you deserve a great experience and quality befitting the name Conrad Int’l. In Japan, this just not acceptable...

I had lunch at Atmos, many things tasted unsatisfactory to me and my main dish was grilled broccoli which tasted bitter, and I stopped eating after one bite then went on to desserts. The staff also did not bring me cutleries for dessert so I didn't had a knife and fork to eat them. After the staff took the main dish away, they didn't bring me new knife and fork so I called another waiter and waited another 3 minutes to have a knife and fork to eat the dessert. In total I waited for 25 minutes. And the latte I ordered only tasted of milk, so I ordered one again. McDonald's probably has better coffee. It was still 13:56, 4 minutes before last order and the staff already quickly came and started clearing the buffet section while I was still helping myself. I feel like they don't have a warm attitude towards guests, nor do they have anyone who observes and cares about what guests want. Good atmosphere but will never...

Our experience at atmos dining buffet restaurant was pretty good during our stay at the Conrad Osaka! We ate here 2 times for breakfast during our stay, and the food was always consistent and at a similar level. The restaurant atmosphere is incredibly modern and futuristic, with breathtaking views of the Osaka city centre. The restaurant is also very clean and other aspects like cutlery are also very modern. As for the service, all the staff are very friendly and will assist you with your query or order as soon as possible. They are able to speak English and Japanese and are all very helpful. As for the food, while the selection generally does not change too much, the food created by the kitchen is consistent and some dishes like the Kushikatsu are amazing! Overall, I believe that atmos dining is worth a try no matter what time of day...
